OK guys the thunder storms have been going today so i will show you some of the older photos

20130228_113353.jpg20130211_162207.jpg20130307_164809.jpg20130307_165154.jpg20130327_153309.jpg20130501_095016.jpg20130709_202956.jpg20130510_102919.jpgPhoto0091.jpgPhoto0092.jpg

some are of the pond build that was 5m x 4 m with a built in 4 inch bottom drain filter system with an up and under the first had a catch pit then it went over into Jap matting that was 300mm thick with media under neath then it went through to a media pit with another 300mm Jap matting then over into a pump pit then out through a 55watt UV and finally out throgh a water fall blade

hmmmmm some photos not in there so here they are Photo0093.jpgPhoto0094.jpgPhoto0096.jpgPhoto0097.jpgPhoto0098.jpg20130709_202956.jpg

WOW !! That has certainly been some investment into your hobby and obviously a lot of thought into the best care and conditions possible for your fish ! Amazing, and the fish look great !

total cost for the pond build was £3500 then the koi (but i import) so i get them cheep :)

here are some of the smaller ones i have at the moment 20130802_091537.jpg20130924_134939.jpg20130924_160532.jpg20130924_160142.jpg

Also this is my quarantine section in my shed 20131107_132919.jpg it's a 2500 litre tank with a 210 nexus i can get around 7000 koi in here when i'm selling them (which i do all the time lol) also if you look to the left there are 2 smaller inspection tanks that i use to sell from :) with a mega yamanitsu filter , it has to be that large as i hold around 1000 koi in these 2 tanks all the time purely for selling ...

Cheers

Brett.

If i can help in any way at all mate please just ask ..... i have got 25 years experience with koi and 10 years at building ponds and lakes yes lakes !!!

THIS GOES FOR ANYONE WHO WANTS ANY HELP WITH THEIR KOI.

Cheers mate,

So is anyone planning a build this year ??

all I got to say is wow , that's some pond , very nice mate ..

I had a pond [moulded one ] a few years ago with koi in , they got quite big as well worth a few hundred some of them but the filter use to get blocked every week and I got feed up of having to clean it out to get the fountain going again so I ended up selling all the fish and pond .

shame that mate, maybe consider building a bigger one :) and bigger filter that won't block up so often.

I've paid to fish smaller pools that lol ,that looks fantastic mate

I only built this half in the ground as i couldn't afford the extra 6 skips to get it all in the ground, otherwise i would have mate.
@Manse if you think that's a larger pond then i'm building a new one soon as we are moving house in the next few months so it's going to be a winter project.....

I have a much larger garden with a section to the side that measures 32 ft x 12 ft (and pond will be 8 ft deep) and it's a total dead space at the moment so i've persuaded the boss that it would be better put to use as a nice big pool !!! but it is also going to extend out with a large bay on the front, again this is going to be at a raised level as we now have older children and at some point there will be grandchildren so safety first, as and when i start the build i will post photos , but like i say it's going to be a winter project as we need to get the new house sorted out first.
I'm a bit gutted about leaving my other pond behind but on to bigger and better projects !!
