Koi carp

hi,
I have been keeping koi a few years now and it is a full on hobby when first starting as the learning curve is huge.
saying that though it is a very worthwhile hobby as you can't beat sitting by the pond on lazy summer day with a drink watching and hand feeding the koi.

a couple of pics of my pond.

In second pic notice the net that is due to heron eating some of my koi.
advice to previous poster net your pond if you have seen a heron around it as it will come back, I had seen a heron at pond side years before it ate my koi but assumed the depth had prevented it from getting fish so never took precautions.

Just discovered your thread, lots of beautiful Koi here. I have a question if you can help. I have kept Koi (and other types) for many years with few issues but this year the weather has been different. I usually stop feeding the fish around November and restart around April but this year the temperatures have changed daily simetimes between minus 3 and plus 12 centigrade. I don't know whether to feed the fish or not. Any help appreciated.
