Total Knee Replacement

Chookey,

How are you feeling now, hopefully, a week makes a big difference!
It should start to settle down from now on as long as you have no complications.

I still have a bit of numbness on the outside of my left knee one year after my op, but it isn't really a problem - better than before op!

Thanks @mmrc01, sort of better, lol.
Felt stronger yesterday morning and walked the short distance to the Doctors' to have my staples removed. Felt even better after they were gone and decided that later I would walk into the town and do some shopping, followed by a couple of pints with the lads.
Brilliant, walked down and back with barely a rest. But this morning, jeez, I feel like I've done 10 rounds. No gain without pain though so expect I will start to recover again quite soon. Will pretty much rest it today as I have physio again tomorrow.

Well, it hasn't took them long!!
6 weeks after my surgery the DWP have sent me a letter to attend a medical assessment.

There are numerous people I see walking round the town with walking aids that are merely ornaments, some walk better than I did before my problem started. I know a couple of them and they receive all sorts of help and are on good money.
The DWP pay me just over £30 per week because I have savings. These savings only exist because I have worked most of my life and paid into the system. Being a taxpayer makes you feel better but it certainly goes against you if you have to enter the benefit system.
