Macro tutorial

Yes, I know i've had lots of 'Final' questions, I just like to be certain about everything!

:Laugh: Yes i think it was the amount of final questions that made me tiered and i gave you the sammy bytes soz about that, i used the funcard to set my net id ok, i dunno who told you it dont work but if its not for you, you could try researching (by using the search button) the libby way of doing it (you will need to buy a scart to serial adapter for about £10)
I remember now that i didnt use that 4k macro.rar to send to my 4k it was a special universal one which i won't be releasing (because i dont have the permission of the author to do so) so don't PM me about it ok.

First of all, I would like to say 'thanks' for all your help, what I have learnt over the last couple of days have certainly been valuable.

I also understand that you cannot release the mac file that you used without permission from the author.

If the funcard method works, then great, but there was another member (stu1, I think) who tried it in an exC*W area and it didn't work for him.

According to others, the mac file on here is set to 41047, so I shouldn't have to worry about setting the net ID.

I tried the 09999 file this morning to see if I could set the netid with a funcard but couldn't get that to work (Got the card is blacklisted in the EM)?
Maybe using the wrong netid software? But Funny didn't try it with the 41047 Mac...LoL

1st of all a big thank Q to clive and tbc for the tut. It is spot on and i got my first box going on my 1st attempt

BUT lol

For some reason i cant get my second one to work even thou i do the same as i done the first time.

Using flash i got a dump from both the boxes and both were 161kb
I then used makemaker and got my macros and both were 1492kb
I then used ocd to flash them back to the boxes and both end bits were correct

Box 1 works a treat but box 2 doesn't!!?

I repeated the whole process again for box 2 and again got the same file sizes and reflashed and still no joy!
I then flashed the macro from the working box 1 to box 2 and still no joy

Both boxes are sammy 2100 on the same feed (nthell pure)using fun au's

Has anyone any idea where i can go from here? ( please don't say hell )

My soldering is not the best but i am assuming the connections were ok as i got no errors and the file sizes were the same and also looked more or less the same in notepad.

this works on a 4000 m8, {i would imagein it will work on a 4010 without pulling the red jumper "with a bit of luck"}-------doesnt change the pin either

let your 4010 set its own netid then dump the nvram at addresses, start/0x21121400- end/0x21122380===it shouldn't take long even with a wiggler "you should now end up with a 10kb s19 file for your netid and freq"---converted with macromaker will give you a 90kb mac.

now write your pin enabled mac back to the box, "then overwrite the netid and freq in the nvram with your saved 90kb mac"

im assumeing this should work, because a pure ntl mac overwrites a 4000 netid/freq at the same addresses

i dont know if it will make any diffrence, {but i select the flash thats actualy in the box rather than the AMIC chip, " namely the stmicroelectronics M29W800XX---although your box might have a M29W400XX

these paticular type of macs "might" come in handy for 4010's that have a problem pulling in the netid

hi can any one shed some light i am running thro this tut i have jtaged box i have checked to see if connected using bk 2.2 and i can read easy but when i update the settings then go to update flash keep gettin

unable to put target in to background mode

any ideas ?

Have you tried using OCD commander before?
you might need to input MakMot on your pc

i restarted pc clicked upload but now unsure where the file is to save it to only says open ?

So if your uploading i assume you have sorted out the connection problem yes?
In my tut is says "don’t forget to name the file and remember where you saved it and to check it is in the format of an “.s19” file." but if you didn't then once its uploaded the flash just look in the Upload Complete screen where it says Upload Flash to: and write it down if need be ok.
If you've passed this point then you can either do it again and pay more attention next time or search your pc for the s19 file.

? I dont know anything about how you've setup your jtag so thats going to be hard for me aint it but you can search for jtag for the settings and common sense tells you that you heve to have a good constant connection on the test points.

Mac-Mot, I've attached but you might not need it but as i dont know hardly anything about your pc or system i cant say you do need it, it was just a guess on the little bit of info you gave us.

sorry i tryed that driver and it said it was all ready running i have a sammy 2100 i have reconnected my jtag which is a bought one i have checked conecction with multimeter and all fine i can connect to bk2.2 easy enough running advent 1.2 proses windows xp i dont usally have this many probs with it ?
it say to run 2.6.2 i down loaded it where you said but mine is 2.6.1?

oh yer makine this file i followed the tut and saved it is that correct then go to upload flash and it doesnt see the file wot have i missed ?
follow tut exactly how do i make that s19 file ?

Did you use macmaker to convert your .s19 file to a macro for ocd?

its making the s19 file i am having probs making as when i save it, it makes a ocd file am i right in just rename to .s19 ?

when i saved my file i called it mydump.s19 . make sure you put the .s19 in the name and see if that works.

mine just wont save to a s19 file i open ocdemon setup every thing it tells you to then go file save mydump.s19 and then click updateflash and it doesnt see the file i have made am i doing it the right way ?

if i rename it i can see it i then upload flash put in macmaker then ocd to load macro ? when finished will it still come up black or blue like it use to ?
