Hi has anyone got any experience with ftp?

I want to setup a system where my cousin and I can share our files over the internet (or cable connection) with each other, can anyone recommend any software which is secure but easy to use? and possibly any tutorial sites etc?

Any advice appreciated (as always)

Kyle

if u get a nas drive u can share as many gigs as the hard drive u installed over the net

i want my cousins files and he also wants my files, is ftp the way to go?

Many thanks for your replies guys, appreciate it

Serv-U FTP Server is my personal choice, its reliable and very easy to setup and maintain.
for the complete n00b there used to be a little app called www fileshare pro that was class
you just install, choose the folders you want to share, add a pasword and run the server.
upon running the server the app tells you the web address to send your friends to and they can login and download whatever you have made available, dunno if they still make it but it was a great little app :)

I would strongly recommend WWW File Share Pro. Very easy to setup and a nice web interface :) No need for ftp software etc. You use Internet Explorer or a similar browser to exchange files
