Sb4200i NetBoot

I trying to use netboot following the Tutorial but it doesn't seem to want to work as per Tutorial !

I'm running Netboot, pointed the FTP root path to the same location as where the NetBoot.exe is. I get the following in the NetBoot window, which appears to be okay according to the Tut

Sending reset request...ok
Waiting for CM to boot...ok
Retrieving CM MAC address...ok (0004BDCA3F74)
Sending NetBoot request...ok
Adding 192.168.100.10 IP to adapter...ok
Starting FTP server...ok
New FTP client.
New FTP user (jmcqueen, rickey7)...accepted
FTP file request (/opt/vwMIPS_1_0_1_fcs/target/config/sb4200/vxWorks.st)...ok
FTP client disconnected.

The tutorial then says to reboot modem and visit 192.168.100.1/hack.html but when I try this I just get the usual explorer message saying web page cannot be found. I can see 192.168.100.1 Configuration Manager page fine !

Does this mean my modem is locked ? If so what is the best way to unlock it Max232, Blackcat cable ?

Info from the help page on the modem says :

Software Version: SB4200-0.4.4.2-SCM01-NOSH
Hardware Version: 1
MIB Version: II
GUI Version: 1.0
VxWorks Version: 5.3

no m8 u if reboot the modem it goes back to its original state. when it gets to this part FTP file request (/opt/vwMIPS_1_0_1_fcs/target/config/sb4200/vxWorks.st)...ok
FTP client disconnected.

just go into explorer and 192 168 100 1 and access the modem

You're right, don't know how I missed that !
Have ordered a 232 from Tailor-Made Circuits so hopefully that should arrive in a few days.
Is it etherboot I need to use with a 232 cable ?

firmware aint locked

probably duff vxworks

use open seseme and its a lot quicker

As jumpinjo says the firmware isnt locked ,, the haynes manual is correct in 1 aspect as all firmwares can be locked depending on if they have been d/graded from locked firmware and the bootline hasn`t been changed ,, but other than that a lot of the info regarding locked firm has to be changed in the manual.

and u rebooted hence why u lost the hack page. i could be wrong but im sure i did few

with netbooting but then again im getting old the memory is not as good as it use to be

I'm trying to run open sesame but getting the following error on windows XP

'The application failed to initialize properly (0xc0000135). Click on OK to terminate the application.'

Any ideas ?

Figured out what was going wrong !

I am running NetBoot from Laptop with cm via onboard rj45 and also have a wireless card installed which is connecting to my main network.
As soon as I remove the wireless card I can access the 192.168.100.1/hack.html page !
Weird because I could access the 192.168.100.1 page with wireless still in !
