Hi im looking for a old game rom R-type but i cant remember who made it im sure it was mame thanks if anyone can help out.

Hi, just to clarify:
Mame is an arcade emulator program u install on the pc to play old
arcade games. Each game come in the form of rom files
(each game can have its rom files all in one zip file).

So, first things first ...
U need to get a hold of the mame emulator, and install it,
then u need to get the 'R-Type' rom file/s to add into the emulator.

See if u can manage to google for the relevent bits.
pm me if u cant find wot u need.

Thanks wolf I managed to find R-type on usenext a DS rom which was great I also seen lots a mame roms with the emu really enjoying the old school stuff thanks for the tip.

R-Type was also one of my favs.
I managed to complete it on the PlayStation (pre PS1).

A couple of years ago I tried the arcade version (using mame),
and it seemed a lot harder (more enemies attacking at the same time).
Used to love splitting the ship up, & bashing/blasting them to bits.
The mega-blast was just awesome at the time.

Never really got into R-Type 2. Like all 'follow ups' it never plays the same.
There was also a third mega version, which had been given the full jap
arcade 3d-ish transformation. Very colourful it was, and hard to play !!!

Glad u now up & running.
U need to try the others aswell ... have fun : colors1

rtype

if you do a search in google for rtype mame rom it should be there someware as all emu sites have it, also the pc engine aka turbo graphics was the best console/ computer conversion
