Bought i some dvds from the U.S for about £12, 10 days ago and still aint got it. Anyway send him an email and got no reply. just logged onto ebay and seen that he isn't a registered user anymore.

anyone know the steps i do on getting my money back from this little toe rag, before the wife uses the lines "I told you so" about using ebay

If you paid by paypal you should be covered m8 go to there site and click on Security Center (bottom of page) and file a claim

little barsteward! Did you pay through paypal? You have to file a complaint thru them if u did, then they will give u ur £ back (hopefully). I would imagine it is quite a straight forward case though so u shud get ur money back.

yeah i paid via paypal, so im going to check out the site now and file a claim.

cheers for the fast replys, going to paypal now

make sure you state that his not a registered member no more,

yeah made the point that the user isn't registered anymore. how long does it usually take for the paypal to get your money back.

How many feed backs did he have ? Always check how many if they have under 50 you will not get your money back its in the fine print of ebay . You wont be covered had a friend lose over 200.00 for robbie williams tickets exactly the same way they had under 50 feedbacks so she lost all the money ebay will say they are not liable and you should have read about feedbacks sorry

:FRIGHT: OMG Even I Didn't No That Thanks For The Information

I remember I bought some videos from a guy in the US. He said he didn't have Paypal so I got a cheque in dollars and sent it to him. He never sent the goods and cancelled his registration. He had about 200 positive feedbacks. You just never can tell.

I dont think many people do know that until they have to put a claim in for not receiving goods.So beware under 50 feedbacks you have no comeback at the moment a few are trying to sell with no feedbacks u buy and then as soon as they have payment they close that account down. Good scam for them isnt it

I went through this in reverse when selling something earlier this year. The full eligibility requirements are tortuous, it's not just 50 feedback, it's at least 50 feedback of which at least 98% is posititive and then a whole load more stuff about how it's paid for as well.
Eligibility. PayPal Buyer Protection will be offered on the eBay listings of sellers who meet the qualification requirements at the time of posting the listing. If a listing is eligible for PayPal Buyer Protection, the phrase PayPal Buyer Protection will be inserted in the Seller Information box.

1. Seller Qualification Requirements. A seller's eBay listings are eligible to qualify for PayPal Buyer Protection coverage if the following conditions are met:

1. The seller's eBay feedback rating is at least 50;

2. At least 98% of the seller's eBay feedback is positive. The percentage calculation for this purpose includes feedback from repeat users, and therefore may be higher than the unique positive feedback percentage displayed on eBay;

3. The seller is a registered PayPal user in one of the following countries:
Argentina, Austria, Australia, Belgium, Brazil, Canada, Chile, China, Czech Republic, Denmark, Ecuador, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hong Kong, Hungary, India, Ireland, Italy, Jamaica, Japan, Korea, Mexico, Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Singapore, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Taiwan, Thailand, United Kingdom, United States, Uruguay,

4. The seller has a Verified Premier or Business PayPal account;

5. The seller's PayPal account is in good standing.

[...snip...]

3. Buyer Qualification Requirements. To qualify for PayPal Buyer Protection on a qualified listing, the buyer must:

1. Send a single PayPal payment for the full price of the item to the PayPal account specified by the seller in the listing. A buyer may send the payment to any email address associated with the seller's PayPal account. If the buyer sends payment to a different PayPal account, even at the seller's request, the transaction will not be covered by PayPal Buyer Protection. If PayPal discovers sellers requesting payment be sent to a different PayPal account than the one originally used in the listing, that seller may be investigated.

2. Associate the PayPal payment with the eBay listing. For example, when paying through the Send Money tab, the buyer must select "eBay Item" as the payment type and must enter the correct Item Number before making the payment.

3. File the dispute via the PayPal Online Dispute Resolution process claim within 45 days of the date of the payment and then have the dispute escalated to a claim. The terms applicable to filing a dispute and claim are set out in the Buyer Complaint Policy. Please note that German registered buyers are not required to file a dispute prior to filing a claim and they must file a claim and they must file a claim within 45 days of the date of the payment.

To be sure you meet the above requirements, PayPal suggests paying via the grey "Pay Now" button on the closed eBay listing. This will ensure the payment is sent to the correct PayPal account and associated with the listing in question.

Note: PayPal Buyer Protection is only available to registered PayPal members.

4. Combined Payments. If a buyer makes a combined payment (paying for multiple listings with a single PayPal payment) to a seller and one of the items is eligible for PayPal Buyer Protection, all of the items will be considered eligible, provided they meet the Listing Qualification Requirements in section 3.b.

5. Final Decision. The decision to offer PayPal Buyer Protection on a given listing is at the sole discretion of the eligible eBay site (eBay.com, eBay.ca, eBay.co.uk, eBay.de, eBay.fr, eBay.it, eBay.com.au, eBay.be, eBay.nl, eBay.at, eBay.ch, eBay.es and eBay.ie, as applicable) and PayPal. If PayPal Buyer Protection is not offered at the time the seller posts the listing, the decision cannot be appealed.

I've claimed through PayPal before.

They were really good, took about a week to sort out.

It does cost you about £12 by the way, maybe not worth pursuing!

i have a claim going with pa*pal over 1 month sent emails stating why not resolved. reply will pursue very soon.. takes average 1 month ... So Thats estimate 1 month and no guarantee.dont even think contacting them via phone unless its a huge amount cos your gonna be waiting ages over 30 mins and then you get a huge shock when you recieve the bill.. : multi :

Paypal just a waste of time when it comes to resolving disputes they would rather you and the seller sort it out.
