Sorry if any of you work in pc world, but what a waste of space that shop is. I went in there at 4pm this evening to pick up another NAS drive, Other than being over priced i was happy until i got the the pay desk and thought i would check the contents after being stung before with bits missing. Anyways all that was in there was the drive, power cables missing, software missing everything. This was the last one left so i was told to go over the tech support area. We walked over and there were two members of staff there, that promply vanished when we arrived, then someone came over already dealing with someone else. This was an exchange on extened warrenty that he couldnt work out. AT 5.45pm i threw the fooking thing at the fat lump of lard, he couldnt organise a pee up in a brewary, how bloody long does it take to exchange a product, not a fooking hour an forty five mins......... Agghhh i had to get that off my chest, with a 2 1/2year old daughter and the mrs moaning at me, this company is now defo on my blacklist of shops. id now rather wait for my stuff to arrive though the post, well actually its prob quicker to recieve it in the post than wait for those w@nkers to help you.
rant over

I have to agree the service at currys and pcworld is p*ss poor any time you go into one of their shops and you need to speak to someone there is never anyone there its like they try and hide from customers.

i quite like pc world, if gives you the opertunity to have a look at stuff cos its all there......but i very rarely buy anything cos as u say its too pricey and staff generally aren't up to much.

i have used thier web site (much cheaper in many cases its 1/2 the price) but then use the collect from store. i did this with an external hdd just before xmas it was a 320g instore price was 139.99 i got for 69.99.

good rant thou, i hope it helped :)

I went through a similar problem not to long ago with those wa*** all i wanted was some assistant with an lcd tv, no one wanted to help, one idiot was standing on top of this thing which looked like a podium so he can have good view of the shop floor, he wasn't doing anything so i asked him can you give me some advice on this TV he said 'sorry i can't move from here' let me get you somebody , i waited and waited for 20 minutes i just gave up at the end and and walked out.

pc world use to be pricey but a long last it started thowing out some good deals , but comet and curries are a waste of space , never enough staff

If I ever need a member of staff in PC world I go and stand by the laptops, even if what I want to ask about is on the other side of the store ;)

Was going to say that yesterday, when you are looking for something in the store they hide from you but I was wondering why they were all pestering me just after christmas when I was looking at the laptops, but I have to say a lot of the stuff in pcworld is cheaper than you can get in any other computer shop or even on the internet and you get a full 12 month warrenty on any hardware you buy there.

but I have to say a lot of the stuff in pcworld is cheaper than you can get in any other computer shop or even on the internet and you get a full 12 month warrenty on any hardware you buy there.

Rubbish, I have to disagree with you there. Never known a shop to be so overpriced, even the stuff they knock out on their "seconds" table, discontinued stock, damaged boxes etc are STILL more expensive than what you can buy elsewhere.
