can anyone remember why we have close together frequencies in cables.xml

rudbox asking

does it make a sense to have freqs 402750 and 403000 ?
as new zapit picks up duplicates

Check if the agc part of your box is able to handle a frequency shift of 250 khz.
Simply use a valid frequency and change it about 250 khz and do a scan.
In some areas such different frequencies are in use.

I can only see one NET id not ending in 000 in the dbox2 netid section
and that's 666750

mine works in both which is why it's curently duplicating and increasing the scan time

Check a newer netid list and you can see whats going in a few areas.

If agc is working you need only one frequency. For the special areas agc must kick in.

which is the newest list, was looking at sticky in dbox2, was going to write a menu option to select, but I see there is a plugin setmylocation.rar but I can't download as it just says its a gif. If there is a newer list I may just do my own menu option for it.

I think that's where the setmylocation.conf file came from in the first place. I know Yido has added to it in the past and I've updated it twice so it should be up to date.

Some special areas:

7 Kings NTL/EX C&W, 41050 666750 6952
Ealing - London N1L ,41069 642750 6952 NEW 14.11.2006
Hanwell 2 - W.London NTL/C&W, 41047 562750 6887
Oxford 1 NTL, 00020 578250 6887
Oxford 2 NTL, 00020 818250 6887

thanks mgb,

i got the files I need from commando 7.5 save me some typing :)

I'll pass the above info onto rudbox

so does this mean if you are in one of the affected areas that end in 000 or 750 scanning for channels wont be possible?
as the new zapit wont handle these steps in frequencies?
sorry if im sounding numb but i have read this thread a few times now and still come to that conclusion.

the reason i ask is because i am in one of those areas so if you need any files off my box i can let u have them.

If you use the old cables.xml with the new zapit you get all channels twice.

Just thought I'd mention the following:
On the Dbox I get all the channels the frequencies ending with 750.

As I was getting fewer channels on the dreambox which scanned the frequencies which all ended with 000, I thought I'd try editing the cables.xml by deleting all the frequencies ending with 000 & left the one's ending with 750, dreambox picked up nothing.

May be some 1 can shed some light on why this happens?
