Dumb TV required

Guys, I have an elderly relative who is due for a new TV. She has no Internet and she will certainly not know how to use smart apps. Her main priority is sound she needs something she can hear. Any advise on a good TV around 300 ish. Thanks.

I doubt if you can get good sound from any modern tv in that price range miggy. Flatscreens don’t have room for decent speakers, which explains all the complaints about mumbled dialogue you get nowadays.

You really need to use earphones or an external outlet like a soundbar or hi-fi for decent sound.

Amazon have a smart LG tv on offer £219 better with sound bar but loud enough without there will be bigger tv on offer too am sure

I will have a look at that thanks although the apps on it will never get used. Its a case of channels 1 to 5 plus challenge TV.

Not cheap but the Sony XBR have a pro mode that locks out options that are not needed and also has an assortment of audio outputs to hook up to assisted listening devices.
