Vaux Op-Com Owners, do any of you live in the Luton, Bedfordshire area ?
If so, would you mind trying to clear the Air Bag Light on my Astra H please, as my mot has run out and I know the light is a failure (I have had the front seats out and checked wiring and connections and also the airbag out from the steering wheel and checked all of the fuses but no luck with the light going off).
I have an old Op-Com, but the software was on my old laptop that no longer works and I have not been able to find the old software disc, have tried downloading software but not been able to find anything that works.
Many Thanks in advance

spin up a virtual machine such as windows XP and you can use the software with that once you pass through the USB.

Thats what I do anyway.

Also you can take a part the dash its a lot easier than you would think and put black tape over it.

any good mot tester will spot this a mile off as the light is ment to come on and then go off

I did something similar on the engine light 3 weeks ago and they didn't spot it.
I would be very surprised if they did spot it the amount of cars/vans they test It would be very hard for them to know what lights are normally lit up on a dash of every car.

the airbag light goes on and then off on all cars
Yep taping up or removing the bulb wont get it through an MOT ther tester will be looking for the airbag light as he turns the ignition on.

Trick ive used in past is to wire the airbag bulb upto the oil light bulb its enough to fool most mot testers.

I'm sure there must be a market for 12V wedge bulbs that automatically extinguish after a few seconds lol. Thinks.....

No Longer Required !!
A local mobile mechanic has used his genuine op-com and identified the problem, which I had already treated and has extinguished the Air Bag Light and has also check out any other possible problems. Cost £35 but that is much cheaper than the local Vauxhall dealer so quite happy with that. Off to get an mot check tomorrow.
