i swapped a tablet for this one. lucky cause the keyboard is fecked on my other.

its one of those cheapos with small drive but you get 200gb of cloud storeage, crap processor and 4gb ram. but it is running windows 10 faster than my much more powerful laptop. how is that?

there is nothing in the download folder. all files are saved on a usb drive.the only files i have installed are for the 5 programs installed, my usual ones just. at times using this laptop in the same circumstances there is 16 gb free it half full with the same shit on it but this is the worst it has been. where is all this crap stored and how do i get rid of it.

cheers

Run this program it will tell you what is using space, but 32gb for windows 10 isn't much.
Forgot to mention you may need to right click on the .exe and run as admin.

Thanks I'll give it a go. The drive must be big enough for the windows or would they be allowed to sell it?

Hi, i would suggest checking your web Browsers Cache, and clearing the saved files. depending on when you did this last that could free up a few GIG of space. this is browser dependent but google "clear history" for the web browser you use.

You can also use Disk Clean up to get rid of temp files, if you are on windows 10 right click the start button in the lower left corner of the screen and go to Disk Managment, this will load a new window you should see atleast a C drive there click it once to highlight it and then go to File->Options.

you should see a Disk Clean up window. you can clean up temp files with out any worry or harming anything to free up space.

lastly if you see a fluctuation of your Disk, this is most likely a windows Paging thing, if your system does not have enough ram, the system uses your HDD to store the information it needs. you can check to see if this is the problem under Task Manager go to the performance tab and take a look at your memory

You can also use Storage Sense from under All settings --- System --- Storage.

Have you done the May Windwos Update yet (1903)? I believe that now reserves more space from overall storage for future updates.

SSD's prices are really low at the moment so may well be worth looking up the model/version of you laptop and see if its upgradable.

Regarding your other laptop slowing down, its always worth doing a backup and using Windows 10's refresh feature.

when i go to crucial and run the upgrade scanner it says no available upgrades. unless i get me keyboard unlocked on the other one im stuck with this. im not spending my money on a new computer

ive done both disk clean up and storage sense. the space sniffer looks very impressive but i have no idea what i can and cant delete. im fked for a while

That's for your RAM memory not your hard drive 😂

Run disk cleanup

Select C drive

Then at the bottom select Clean up system files

Look for Windows Update Cleanup , tick the box then select ok

Here is my C drive just going to clean it up now to save space
