Mag boxes getting blocked

You did not step on anyones toes mate. 🙂
A VPN will not bypass issues on magboxes mate as its not an ISP issues, its informir blocking portals.
Running an M3U bypasses portal.
If your using portal on magbox you will be tied to the mac address on that device and no option for username.
(no option for kodi on magbox mate)
Good god!! why on earth would anyone buy such a machine, Its worse than buying a computer from pc world

Thats why i advise open source STBs.

But block on magboxes is not affecting everyone.

Well thank you for that I will steer well clear of that box.
It does pose one last question though. As a linux box is it not possible to change the operating system like the old minix which was windows but would take other operating systems

I dont have one but from my understanding a Mag box is the box that give the user the most "normal" experience using IPTV

Yes, that was the reason I got one as it was suggested to me. My big footy match was blocked yesterday but my channels came back on after 3/4 hours after the initial block

Thread is really about infomir blocking portals. The reason yours went off has nothing to do with that.
You need a VPN.
(oops.... cant run a VPN within mag)

Heard absolutely loads got hit with EPL block over weekend.
Big difference in servers blocked and portals blocked.
🙂

Bigger providers are issuing their own images for MAG boxes. One provider set date 10.02.2020 before Infomir blocks their portal. I think its a condition if they are to be allowed to export their boxes in some countries

I don't think this was mentioned but many IPTV providers are now developing their own firmware to flash these boxes with. Infomir blocking the service that their boxes are designed for is the ultimate sign of the times. Now obviously not every provider will have such firmware but you can always ask them. for me just so happens that two of the main ones I use do provide it on their software/download page

I was having issues with Infomir software on MAG351 blocking certain portals which I have circumvented without needing a Noblock image. However a few days ago one of my portals reported blocked. Having investigated I am convinced my ISP (Telefonica) is blocking. Changing DNS server (either in router or MAG) allows the portal to load but viewing channels fails. Trying to avoid going VPN - any ideas please?

How to Downgrade the Mag boxes
1. Download the correct image for your device from the below links and follow the instruction how you can flash your device to get back access to IPTVs and Video Clubs,
Mag250:: mag250
Mag254:: mag254
Mag256:: mag256
Mag322:: mag322
2. Extract the .zip file on your computer. Then copy the folder you get onto a FAT formatted High Quality USB flash drive (max 16gb or less, we recommend Kingston or SanDisc. Do not be surprised if a cheap usb disc doesn't work !!!). It needs to be the folder, with the files inside it, placed at the root of the USB drive. Do not change any folder/filenames.
3. Insert the Flash drive into a USB port on your STB
4. Remove the power from the STB and then replace while holding down the ‘Menu’ button on the STB remote control until the box boots into a blue screen, this is the STB BIOS screen.
5. Navigate to ‘Upgrade Tools’, then ‘USB Bootstrap’ and follow the onscreen messages to install the original firmware.
6. Once completed and rebooted, enter ‘Settings’ and then ‘System Settings’, scroll all the way down on the left hand column and find the ‘Software update’ option.
7. Run the software update and you are done. You must follow the instructions EXACTLY Did you download the file to your computer ? NOT direct to the usb disk? Did you unzip the file to your computer ? NOT on the usb disk Did you copy the entire folder labelled mag250 NOT the files inside USB must be no larger than 16GB and of high quality. For more information you can watch the below YouTube video how is the process of flashing a Mag device to get it un-blocked. URL:

Thanks for your reply, but it us the ISP blocking the portal not the MAG software.

The new MAG set-top box support enablement patch for Stalker Middleware 4.9.30-35 and Ministra TV Platform 5.3, 5.4, 5.4.1, 5.5
Some video services still run on older versions of Ministra. However, recent models of Infomir’s set-top boxes (e.g., MAG420, MAG424) may not work with outdated versions of Ministra. When attempting to authenticate on the portal, they show an error: ‘The Firmware of your STB is outdated. Please update it.’

This message can be misleading for IPTV/OTT operators and users alike. It’s not the set-top box that causes this problem, but the operator’s outdated middleware. Operators can fix this problem with a patch that is available on the official Infomir Documentation page (wiki.Infomir.eu)
The Stalker Middleware 4.9 patch enables support for the MAG420, MAG322, and MAG324 set-top-boxes. To update the middleware, you need to download the patch from the wiki.infomir.eu website, then put it into the /var/www/stalker_portal/ directory, and run the following command in the terminal:
sudo patch -p1 < support.patch
This patch is only compatible with Stalker Middleware 4.9.30-4.9.35 and will not work with earlier versions.
Infomir has also developed a patch to enable compatibility between the MAG420, MAG422, and MAG424 set-top boxes and Ministra TV Platform 5.3, 5.4, 5.4.1, 5.5. The devices mentioned above support Ministra 5.6 out of the box. To patch the middleware, you need to download the package that corresponds to your Ministra version from the wiki.Infomir.eu website and follow the installation instructions.

Ministra TV Platform 5.3.0, Ubuntu 14.04:
Put the patch file into the /var/www/stalker_portal/ directory and run the following command in the terminal:
sudo patch -p1 < support_5_3_0.patch
Download the archive here and unpack it.
Copy the contents of the 530_14 directory into the stalker_portal directory. You can do this by running the following command in the terminal:
cp -r 530_14/* stalker_portal/
After that, you will need to reset all Smart Launcher apps. To do that, delete the contents of the stalker_portal/misc/themes directory if it exists in your system. Then, reboot your set-top box and re-authenticate to complete the patch installation.

Ministra TV Platform 5.4.0, Ubuntu 16.04:
Put the patch file into the /var/www/stalker_portal/ directory and run the following command in the terminal:
sudo patch -p1 < support_5_4_0.patch
Download the archive and files here, and unpack it all.
Copy the contents of the 540_16 directory into the stalker_portal directory. You can do this by running the following command in the terminal:
cp -r 540_16/* stalker_portal/
After that, you will need to reset all Smart Launcher apps. To do that, delete the contents of the stalker_portal/misc/themes directory if it exists in your system. Then, reboot your set-top box and re-authenticate to complete the patch installation.

Hay it seems that some mag boxes are being blocked any info
Hello Can you help, I have had to mag boxes running perfectly, then both stopped with a message saying about streaming illegal content. On the advice of my IPTV provider i installed a VPN router, strangely one box started working perfectly the other is still the same. It even comes up with the message when I remove the ethernet cable. Any ideas please

If it was me id check the url on the box is correct then the mac is correct with your provider.

If that is all ok reinstall the firmware and re enter server details.

If that fails replace it with a firestick and use STBemu with your mag boxes mac address entered.

Thank you for the reply the url is correct and the iptv provider have the right mac address. I have reset the box to factory settings and I still get the message even when not connected to the net. Do you think the box itself is at fault
