Manchester United thread

You do realise that Mourinho has outperformed Klopp for the large part of his time at United.
To be a successful manager you have to win trophies. Klopp hasn’t.

Winning trophies is not the only measure of success.
Improving players and improving the team, then creating an attractive and exciting way of playing is also a measure of success.
Its only a matter of time before Klopp wins another trophy.
The only trophy that I can see on Uniteds horizon is the Championship Trophy a few years after they get relegated.

I’m afraid “that’s a fact” ask Arsenal.

I know which team I prefer watching, trophies or no trophies.

Manchester United announced today that former striker Ole Gunnar Solskjær has been appointed as caretaker manager until the end of the 2018/19 season
will be joined by Mike Phelan, who returns as first-team coach having previously working alongside Sir Alex Ferguson.
Michael Carrick and Kieran McKenna, both part of Mourinho's coaching staff, will continue to work under Solskjaer

We announced it last night by mistake [emoji23] we’re such an inept bunch, we can’t even do this right.
All that interim boss for 48 hours and then mistakenly announcing a replacement for the interim 16 hours later [emoji23][emoji23]

This is going to be such a car crash it will be compelling viewing.

I dont think he can do much worse than Mourinho tbh. In fairness I did say many pages ago, that either Mourinho or Pogba had to go, seems they felt that it was cheaper to sack Mourinho, although there are rumours of a 125m move for Pogba back to Juve. Cannot see it happening myself, but stranger things have happened, gastrodamus got any thoughts or premonitions on it?

Gastrodamus premonitions are likely to be.

Man U win the Premier League, Champions League and F.A Cup
Pogba wins Player of the year
Lukaku wins golden boot.
Solskaer wins manager of the year.

And Gasman makes love to her majsty the queen (this one is more likely than the others)

The only thing missing from Mourinhos time here was his 2nd season title. Without City putting in that unstoppable run to the title then who knows, maybe we would have seen that title win. We had enough points to have done it and with a race involved we would have undoubtedly accrued more.

So here we are now in Mourinhos 3rd season and he’s done a Maureen and got sacked.

His time here (unless we re-write history, as some will) wasn’t a huge disaster. He delivered us to a European final and brought the trophy home. He finished in second place in the league last season and also took us to another final. He also won another final in his first season.
3 finals 2 won and second in the league.
Still better than Klipperty [emoji1745]‍[emoji3603]

We are installing a sporting director which will hopefully keep Ed Woody out of transfer business and prevent the silly little git from undermining any future managers.
We’ve got Ole in as a temp measure and that feels like a win win for both parties. 2018-19 is a write off for the fans now so whatever happens under from now until May doesn’t really matter. Ole can walk away with his legacy in tact and the club has time to sort out a new DOF, a proper football guy who can act as go between for manager, board and the scouting system.

I feel positive about the future.
