Hi,
As the subject describes my girlfriends mum has a DS3 and it recently stopped blowing hot air (the car not the girlfriend) it blows on number 5 but not 1-4 also the air is cold and I read it could be the resistor pack? If you turn it to 1 2 3 4 it stops blowing.

I followed a YouTube video understanding that the resistor is under the passengers footwell but I couldn't find it - any ideas\suggestions please?

Thanks

Hi mate yeah the car has aircon. The annoying thing is when ever you search for DS3 it always seems to refer to C3's which I think have bits in different locations.

Yes different locations sounds right as one search says even on drivers side air box,but aircon might have to be accessed through top of dash.
As car is a Shitroen i might advise car gets a diagnostics run on it as Peugeot mention module failure.

I had the same issue on mine(opel) and it was the resistor.

I thought it was going to be an easy fix but had to take off half the dash to get to the resistor

Is there a Peugeot equivalent? Like the 108 is a C1 as I might try the same location as that. Also would this kind of resistor failure write as an error code? As the management light hasnt come on (if it would in this instance) thanks

No engine light is on another circuit,i suspect your one might be a body control issue and could have other issues also not aware of,i went on google for locations and what it may look like and see 3 different types but as yours has aircon it may differ in what it looks like and where its located.
Is your dash non digital or digital?

Im pretty sure its a digital dash (will need to check as its the girlfriends mums car)

On most cars when it only works on high speed resistor failure is most popular but still have heat=aircon off and heat turned up,but if dash is digital more chance of other issues.Any resistors i have replaced were on non digital or aircon systems.
Forgot to add make sure coolant is not low as to stop water circulating and heat through heater box.

My 2004 C3 blower resistor failed a couple of years ago, I got a replacement from fleabay (China). The replacement looked quite different to the original, but the pluggery was the same and it works fine. It's actually an electronic module doing the job of a resistor, without getting hot (Vauxhall/Opel take note). I do not recall if it affected the heating/cooling/a/c.

It was 3 or 4 years ago and I can't remember exactly where is it - somewhere under the dashboard and exactly where the YT video said it was. Probably helped by the fact mine is LHD.
BUT mine is an old C3, not a DS, things will no doubt have "moved on" since.

Thanks guys, I nipped down to my local Citroën dealer and spoke to the parts department who showed me where its located - typical as I initially looked at the passenger side and it seems to be the drivers side.

Funnily enough when I asked about stock they said there weren't any not just down here but in the whole of the UK. They would have to get them from France..... I just wonder if these things fail around the same time as said they are only resistors. Ordered one off tinterweb and will have a look tonight :)

Just had a quick look under the drivers side - it was dark so I'll be looking properly on Sat. But its difficult to make head nor tail of the strip down diagram the Citroën chap gave me and even harder when I google it. If I google air puller air entry module reducer it shows what Im supposed to do but doesn't seem to be the same layout as under the material covers maybe doing it in the day will be more obvious :)

google images did show one in drivers side around left foot.

Do C3's and DS3's have the same parts\layouts etc? All I can see when I google is C3 images :)

Might or might not would depend if the dash was identical.
