I have seen some posts with people struggling to run IPTV on the openbox V8s.
For some reason i understand it works on some boxes and not others, i have attached the firmware that worked for me. Please be sure your box is not a clone before you run firmware.
If the firmware your running is.....
3511HD_10_08_2015_06B7 there is no need to update it.

If your supplier has issued a URL copy and paste it then open your browser and remove everything in web address.
Now paste the URL in there and press enter. It will download a file called "M3U".
You need to rename that file to WebTV.
If supplier issued an M3U just rename that to WebTV also.

Copy the WebTV file to blank memory key (FAT32 format)
Go to the WebTV app on the openbox and remove/delete anything thats in there then upload your file to the app. It will populate within second.

To be fare i was suprised how well it worked on such a basic box.
Its not amazing but still some life in the boxes yet.
:)

@river4ever,

Hi. Thank you for your instructions in running IPTV on an OpenBox V8s.

I think I have followed your instructions to the letter, but although I get all the channels listed in my

.m3u Listing, every channel only runs for some 30sec before freezing. Reselecting the channel and it runs for another 30sec before freezing again.

I notice that on selecting a channel the connect speed starts at 450kbs then slowly drops down to 0 in about 20sec, suggesting to me that the buffer is not being topped up after the initial start.

I have tested the .m3u listing in my Ipad and it works perfectly.

Is there something I am not setting in my Openbox ?.

Many Thanks

Sorry for taking awhile to get back to you mate.....
I assume you have flashed with the firmware I attached in post #1?

Also there should be no M3U file uploaded to openbox.
The file "must" be call....
WebTV

PM me mate if issues still going on as I'm working on openboxes at the moment with IP*V.

But original post should work mate.

will these boxs handle HD channels n IPTV as I noticed on the ZGemma Star S they struggled with HD where as SD was fine and one can assume the V8S is similair in terms of performance to a Star S

Personally i would not waste my time running iptv on these boxes. They will do but lets say its as basic as you can get. If channel locks you need to turn it off by the mains.

Read post #1
@chookey.. Thanks for your pearls of wisdom but i already did that before i asked the question which wasn't even directed at you so why butt in ! Why is there always some smart ar#e on here that feels the need to get involved with stupid unhelpful answers.
If you've got nothing constructive to say don't bother responding and let those interested in actually helping people respond instead.

I felt it was constructive, river had gave adequate instructions in post #1. If you need it put in simpler terms then just ask, I'm sure we could make it so even you could understand.
I'm also sure that your 13 posts in a year have helped members out no end, keep up the good work Sunshine!!

Sorry to jump on the post but but my sister just gave me a Openbox V8S which is a friends of hers for me to look at o_O
looking at the posts above it seems it not the best and not worth putting eye pea tea vee on it?
is there anything i can do with it like install kodi on it and some APK`s or just use it as a door stopper
i don`t have a scooby doo about these as you can guess lol
TIA

@river4ever. I have v8s with Openbox V8S 3511HD CMT 15081006BD firmware. What do I need to do to add IP*V ?
What is it you need to know @spartacus70

I gave detailed info in post #1.
They are not good for iptv. If your supplier issues your file for your openbox and there not named tell him he needs to learn how to run a panel.
But i gave as much detail as i could.

If you need extra help ask mate. But post #1 covers all that needs done.
Just remember to delete anything thats in WebTV app before you upload your file.
It will upload in seconds.

But it poor

I have 6 openbox v8s and if you put iptv under 100channels the iptv works fine.

Personally, I would not waste my time running IPTV + CCCAM FREE on these boxes. They will do but let's say its as basic as you can get. If channel locks you need to turn it off by the mains.
