I've got an old Focus which has recently passed it's MOT with the help of nearly £300 lol.
I went into it this morning, to find a small puddle in the drivers foot-well. :( I don't want to spend any more cash to find and fix the leak, as it's coming to the end of it's days, so, due to the spongy floor, could i get away with drilling a small hole through the floor to release any built up water, or is that not a good idea?? lol

Quite often caused by a build up of leaves and other crap in the drainage channels between the windscreen and bonnet. Have a good clean out and see if it improves.

may well have some rubber grommets on floor remove those

not a good idea as you can get more water coming up through the hole than you are letting in from else where
get a loan of a carpet cleaner to suck the water out and do as said , clean all the gutters and so on
you can get silicone grease for the door rubbers and make sure windows seals are clean and clear
.check the pollen filter housing is on right as this can leak

Cheers for the replies.

Everything seems in order?

@JonMMM yes got sunroof (don't think I've ever used it lol)

As it goes, the car was parked sloping down hill and slightly sloping to the right (drivers side)

It's lashed down a few times since, but i haven't noticed any more water? :)

previous driver was caught short aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa thats better:D

Still leaking :( lol

Must be something to do with the direction of the rain/ wind?

see if you can pull back drivers carpet get someone into passenger side with a torch and all windows closed and doors closed put hose or watering can onto sunroof and get person to shout when water appears,if car is rusty could be that in behind windscreen ?

@JonMMM

You could be right with the sunroof. I've noticed a soggy patch under the roof.

I'm out in the work van at the moment, but I'll do some further investigation later. :)

drains are blocked and water rises as mentioned before, might need a force of air to check if clear,is it a motorised or pop up sunroof, because some open and dont close:eek:leaving a bigger hole for rain to enter:(:D

It's a manual winding roof (old school lol)

As i come to think of it, I'm sure i was pissing about with it around about the time this all started lol
I definitely closed it properly. Honest!
