My TV has suddenly gained a black mark on screen. This is permanent and does not go away. I am on to the manufactures who have asked for photo's and videos

See pick for mark.

Is this dead pixels or something else? Its not been hit/or misused in anyway.

IO;m talking to Samsung and going through the process but they are kinda slow!

keep on to them daily till they get ragged off, if its under warranty they will replace.

As said keep pushing them, that is terrible!

Let us know how you get on @fus10n

Well samsung have got in touch with a local repair company who have ordered the 'panel' and want to fix it...but the days i'm off they are booked up and i can't get off the days they aint. Wish they'd just replaced the bloody thing!

take this back to the retailer that you got the set from . its there legal duty to replace the set especially if Samsung say its faulty

No if its older than 28 days they have a right to repair rather than replace

Not a job that would normally be carried out in a customers home. Surprised they haven't offered you a loan set while they repair your's in the workshop. Have they ordered a screen without checking your's? Not all sets with the same Model number carry the same screen.

should have said replace /repair but at least you get to deal with the supplier face to face. more chance the retailer will replace and send set to Samsung

Well they have ordered something and say they are repairing in my home. I get the feeling that this is a common thing that happens?

Another worry is that after the TV is repaired will this just shorten its life span?

The black mark on my screen moved vertically downward so I'm puzzled, the guy came today with a new panel. I wasn't able to be here when he came so had to get my sister to come over and let him in. I had left him a note saying that the mark as slowly travelled downwards since the fault had occurred. She said he came in, turned TV on, couldn't see a mark but said that it'd probably show up in a few hours. So he replaced the panel anyway... she wasn't in the room to watch as it was a sunny day and went out in the garden.

This sounds messy, If something else break other than the panel in the time I have left on the warranty I have to contact samsung(6 months) I get another years warranty from the company that installed the panel, probably for just the panel.

Wished they had just replaced the TV as now I don't know if they replaced the panel or not!

When you say he "replaced the panel", do you mean the LCD screen or a circuit board? Sadly "panel" has become the term for either!

I assumed he meant the screen because I can't think of a board fault that would produce that symptom. I knew from the pretty poor picture that it wasn't dead pixels.
The fact that the mark moved makes me think there could have been some foreign matter introduced during manufacture.

Post the model number and I'll check the service manual to see how you can check how many hours your screen has done.

Thanks, if I could find out if i can check the hours of the 'panel' that would be great.

The word panel, is what the repair guy called it. I'd have called it screen.

found how to get into service mode, where do i find the screen hours?
