Sensible Topic President Trump

Well looks like he did it . I bet they wished they had taken him more seriously at the beginning . As for the uk and beyond there are going to be a few mps cringing and worrying about what they said .

Most of my American friends will be really happy with this outcome. They hate Clinton and think she is really bad for there Country.

What worries me miggy is that with a population of just under 320 million is this the best they could get . He makes the Tories look left wing and she is just a daft old hag clinging on to the coat tails of her husband (who also was a header )

Good point m8. Obviously the Americans see more to this Trump guy than we do. He doesn't paint a pretty picture in my eyes he reminds me of a UKIP candidate waiting to pounce with new racial laws. Is that a good thing? I am not sure about this one but if the Americans are happy then so be it. :).

There's been a shift to the right across a lot of the westernised world. The Tory landslide at the last election, and Brexit are testament to this in the UK. (Admittedly the Tories are probably the most centralist party at the moment.)

I just hope the democratic party takes on board the reasons why people didn't vote for Hillary, and not blame Bernie or assume it was a protest vote...

Looks like Clinton won the popular vote, albeit with a slim majority; but lost out because of the electoral college system. Source: Hillary Clinton poised to win popular vote despite losing presidential race | US news | The Guardian

Oh, the irony of a thread about Donald Trump in the "sensible chat" section...

As of June this year the Western World seems to have taken a stupid pill.

I'm just glad I'm old enough to have enjoyed the good years.

EU leaders just invited Donald Trump to Europe for an EU - US Summit to chart the course of our relations for the next four years.

On the bright side Trump is in court on charges of rape this December. He may never make it to the White House.

Since when have we had, or any Country had a squeaky clean President/Prime Minister/Member of Parliament??.

that's not what i was saying, if guilty its a felony offence and bars him from public office. if guilty a civil suit could well wipe him out financially too.

Boris Johnson Congratulations to Donald Trump and much looking forward to working with his administration on global stability and prosperity................. !!!

I posted a heartfelt sadness on here a few months ago when 'We' as the UK decided to Brexit. I lay the blame on the detachment of the common person with those ruling. Playing on closet fears of racism and religious fundamentalism, the common person feels so detached he makes irrational choices seem worthy.
I was saddened then, even more so now!

Protests erupted across the U.S. after Donald Trump became president.
In Oakland and CA, some people set tires and trash on fire.

I worry about a guy like that having access to nuclear bombs. Building a wall to cut of Mexico? Maybe they should ask Germany about the last wall they had? He's going to start up the American steel industry again?

I hope i eat my words and America does well with a person who's 'different', but America could have a new civil war if he's what most think he is!

(Just my shower thoughts)

What a sanctimonious crock of shite. You talk of "the common person" from an outside perspective as if you're somehow superior.
I was pro Brexit and didn't base my opinion on either racism or religion. I haven't always made the right choices in life but could never be accused of making irrational choices. Is this your way of coming to terms when someone's opinion differs to your own???
