would be nice too see xbmc on this, just got mine today not messed about yet, with plex can i stream straight from my synology nas or does it have to be through a laptop or pc as it would be great if i could stream straight from the nas!

just installed plex..went on ok,done the software update and it shows on the main screen with iplayer etc

did you update before you put plex on as i tried to put plex on 1st before updating.i turned on now tv then connected to wifi and ignored the update.then i installed hack but no plex on screen.

thats how i done it...set up the wi-fi,enabled dev mode,rebooted,logged on to now tv box from computer, installed plex,done the software update.all ok here.works well.
as for streaming from a nas,there are options on there to set this up

all sorted now and well worth 10.00 not as good as the rasppi but for 10.00 total bargain.thanks to jfish for bringing it our way.

@BIG-HOL i think on my synology in the package centre there is plex server addon would that make it so this box would see the synology ?

By the sounds of it my question about aout all the on demand channels are on there, can someone just confirm for my bbc iplayer, itv player, 4 od and 5 od are on the box and work without having a subscription of any kind ? Wouldnt mind a cheap box just for them to be honest, as on demand on my vu box is no go, 4od has stopped working on it also and on my xbmc machine as i believe 4od have changed stuff to make it not work anymore, so may get one of these ,

Just had mine delivered and installed plex & updated.
Working great on my plex server (local).
5 on demand is working (no subscription) can't see 4od on my box but i might be being a little dense

i just installed plex on it for £10 i think it a great bit of kit ,plays fine from my plex server

Mines the ds 413j , i have a repo added to my synology for extra apps, cant remember the name off top of my head but if you want it can get it when i get home, thats maybe why its not on yours. Same place you get sick beard app from,

Just had a look on the plex forum and apparently the server won't run on that nas.

I tried to download a windows version but not much showing, can one download apps like web browser and stream youtube etc ?

Hi all got my now TV box asked to update software first, setup great got plex working

I think for £10 its a bargain

Anyone know if you can add more plugins

well i have been playing with the now tv box today

and have now managed to get icefilms, navi-x, ss-plex,movie2k,let me watch this, apps working via plex

and you get a free HDMI cable all for £10

the simple answer is no.....however it works like apple tv, its a media streamer from your computer running the plex media server

you install all the extra plugins in plex channels see link below
