Sunray dm800se clock loses time

It does work, what does the changes you made do differently?

Its not so much what they do differently m8, its a case of making it do what it should be doing, which it doesnt do lol

Seriously I'm no expert but most boxes will get their time from the current transponder your watching,
but with these front processor v3 clones this doesnt seem to happen so therefore your time will always be wrong,

By using the dvb plugin it will sync your time to an internet time server, once, at boot up or when coming back from deep standby,
the cronjob then keeps it synced every two mins :)

Hi guys

I have the same problem, but my clock gains time not looses it lol

anyway i found this on another site and it seems to have fixed my problem. btw i removed the time updat plugin first

I managed to fix this it seems, by editing /etc/enigma2/settings add line:
config.misc.useTransponderTime=false
and then reboot and set date manually:

date -s 2012.02.20-18:57 - set to correct date and time <--------- I didnt need to do this as i set the clock before rebooting

hope this helps someone

Nope hasnt fixed it, made it worse.

Clock still gains time, about 35 mins a day, but on channel change it would get correct time, with this edit it dosent of course :(

Back to the drawing board i guess lol

If you follow my tips on this thread it will sort it for you :)

Hi wiz mate.

Yea i read through the thread, was hoping to do a quick fix lol.

To be honest the clock dosent worry me that much, Its just so surprising that they could release hardware with such a bug, digital timers have been around so so long, what an oversight.

The box is on 24/7 and tuned into bbc1 or bbc3 99% of the time. I thought i was going mad a couple of times when i could have sworn the time had changed 30 mins on going to bed and had changed the channel, or thinking i didnt think it was that late :p

I tought the box only loose time when in standby. Does it also loose it when active?
Can somebody reply while I'm waiting for buying a second hand clone
Greetings

Yes it can lose time both when active and in standby :)

YES

My box ummm gains about 20-30 mins a day, and its on 24-7, but its on the same channel until about 23:00 each night, changing channel then puts the time correct.

I have been very busy trying to sort this problem too with my box and i had used dvb settings But i found installiing 2.1 openpli image would solve the problem permanantly after you install a plugin called systemtime from the download panel by going to plugins and then green button then extention and you will find tgere otherwise try system plugin instead of extentions

I downloaded the plugin systemtime, but can seem to find the plugin. What to do next?

Little update: I've removed the power for 10 seconds and the time is good. Wil get back to you later to let you know if the time still is good !

Try the "systemtime" plugin from the download menu first, this works for me since I changed images, although I don't use standby so cannot say if it will work in that mode but for regular use it works fine,

If that doesnt sort it we will find cronmanager from somewhere ;)

thanx wiz...ill give it a try tomorrow(had too many beers to be playing about with it tonight) but ive never used standby either box is always on so hopefully it will work;)

cheers m8

Cool let me know how it goes,
I'm not sure even if that plugin is in the DW image plugin menu as the pli sources have probably been updated since then,
if not shout and I will find it somewhere :)

I too was having problems with the time on my dreambox, finally got it sorted thanks to the tips on here
