Hi could anybody tell me where is the fuel pump relay located on a diesel mk5 vw golf 1.9 tdi year 2005 Right hand drive?

I have no volts going to the fuel pump and i wanted to check the fuel pump relay, to see is this the problem.I took out the fuel pump and that is working fine i hooked it up to a battery to check it.

I have 12 volts for the fuel pump at fuse number 6 on the rhs of the dash but there is no power at the second fuel pump fuse under the bonnet fuse number F33.

So i think between the 2 fuses there is a relay and if the relay was faulty it would not be giving power to second fuse number F33 under the bonnet.

Any help really appreciated.

Have a look in this area mansfield and see if its located here.
Relay panel under left dashboard. To gain access to relay panel under left dashboard, lower vehicle system control module. (remove left under dash panel -remove panel mounting screws-lower panel & disengage from front mounting tabs-detach footwell light harness connector- using small screwdriver, press on locking tabs to disengage diagnostic connector from panel-reach up underneath dashboard & press on locking tabs to release vehicle electrical system control module from dashboard support frame-lower module to gain acces to relays. Fuel pump relay J17 farthest to right.

Cheers thanks - will have a look tomorrow.

IS this where its located on mk5 golf tdi or is this where its located on say mk 4 or other model golfs ?

Check for corroded wires near the fuse box as well. this is a common fault on these cars.

Will do - there are 3 relays along with more fuses (the F33 15 amp fuse is here thats not getting any volts) in the engine bay beside the battery.Have you any idea what these relays are for ?

2 black coloured relays both numbered 433, and 1 grey coloured relay numbered458

There are 3 fuseboxes in your car A,B,C.

433 is the central door locking. you may have to try and get hold of a haynes manual for the full fuse/ relay and wiring diagrams.

Thats very helpfull- could you put up a picture of table B so i can see the relay positions .

Hi thanks for all your help - thats a different relay lay out than the one in my car. The fuel pump relay is on the rhs above another relay board. I took out the relay and checked it , it was working fine but no power was going to it from fuse box fuse to send power to it was blown and it was only a 5 amp fuse when it should be 15 amp.
The hand book didnt show this second fuse as being for the fuel pump.It only showed 1 in the car dash which is a 5 amp fuse.Another lad told me where the second fuse was - replaced that fuse and its fine.

Relay panel is under dash, drivers side. There are 3 rows of relays, you want the bottom row ,4th spot from the left (number 208)?
