Guys,

A freind of mine lives in Poland and want's to share a certain card I have, now he is not really into the sat scene and is really looking for a simple solution at a decent cost.

I have been thinking about advising him on a clone DM 800, but I know many of these have issue's an original at £400 odd is not realistic (can't believe DMM who's going to pay that)

Anyway, was thinking about the other option of a Spiderbox 7000 HD, seen it for £170 and I guess he can use this to get a c line from me, my thinking is this will be easier to set up and have less chance of over heating or glitching etc, on the downside he cannot be a server with this so I can't see his cyfra + card, no major deal and I suppose one of my now defunked DM500c could host that if needed.

So what do you reckon, are the newer clones ok or opt for the spider, and take advantage of the gift as well?

hi m8 you better going for dm-800 ccam is solid on dreamboxes i just sold my spiderbox cause it was shit ccam kept cuttin out lots other people gettin same problem if ya server owner has not got ccam 2.11 on his server then no good m8 most server owners use updated ccam ver
get a dm-800 m8 way better boxes than spiderbox

I agree. A clone dm800 is cheap enough and does a decent job. A spiderbox is only if you are really on a low budget & dont expect much. In your case you will benefit from the extra functions a clone dm800 will give you.

The clones never have any bother on other HD channels than sky, none i have found anyway and i have had a few 800 clones recently and they are all fine on sky to as long as you have a good signal, other than that they are great boxes.

Fair enough guys seems like the DM800 is the better option, just the reports back seem to indicate the spiderbox hardware was good just the "gift" was the problem, I have also read that the spider only uses cccam 2.1.1 not sure if this is true but I guess that could be a limiting factor.

Think we will take a chance on clone DM800, only a few quid more than the spider, for me it's not so much the budget but I want something that will work without too many issues so looking at it from a hardware point of view.
