UFC 118 Boxer James Toney comes to the ufc to take on hall of famer legend Randy Couture, Toney has been doing a lot of trash talking how he is going to knock Randy out, lol. I think Randy will do his usual dirty boxing followed by lots of ground and pound. But Toney has got knock out power, still my money is on the natural.

got to agree Couture will submit him i think but it does make a interesting fight all the same.Looking forward to it.

not watched the ufc in a while but randy couture is a legend in the game and ive always liked him but he is getting older now but still hope he wins

Toney has not been relevant in boxing for years. If he doesn't gas after 30 seconds it be a miracle. He's spent some time training with King Mo and the word from the camp is not good.

Its going to take a miracle punch from him to stop Randy. The only plus side for Toney is randy is not exactly know for an iron chin but I am pretty sure Randy will have a cunning game plan, lol

If toney catches him its good night.

But Couture will just take him down, and wear him down with ground and pound. Will depend how good Toneys ground game is, which I doubt will be any good at all.

If not none existant lol.

Yeah big time mate. We have a very good boxer down here, who has knock out power in both his hands. He went into cage fighting, and knocked out his first 3 opponents within a minute of the fight starting. He took on the champ, and he took him straight to the floor and battered him.

Its called mixed martial arts for a reason. You need a ground game!

As mentioned above. Randy wont even try to trade with Toney at all. He will shoot and take him down in the first minute of the fight and pound him out.
Toney will have to be aware of this and keep Randy at distance and try to KO him but there is very little chance of this happening.

I don't think randy is going to go straight in and shoot. Even if the other guy has bad take down defence (and JT has been training take down defence with some of the best in the world for the last 6 months) then you have to set it up and Randy is no spring chicken these days.

It would not surprise me if Randy decides to try and clinch and work from there.

Not according to Joe Rogan he hasnt.

I would say king mo is one of the best. Don't know how much he took in though.

BJ - hope Edgar wins tho
Randy - Good guy should win no probs
KenFlo - Tough fight, Kennys elbows to cut up Grey
Miranda - seems maia is by far the favourite for this one, what do i know

i've missed the last few UFC tournaments but this Toney vs Couture thing has caught my interest.

Looking forward to seeing it - reminds me of when i was a kid watching Hulk Hogan vs Rocky in Rocky 3!! lol

James lights out Toney, and thats exactly what happened as predicted Randy made light work of him and put a stop to all the trash talk inside round one.
What was up with BJ at all he just didnt seem up for it,l Edgars work rate is phenomenal though and he was just relentless and won all 5 rounds well done.

Couture won easy lol to easy in my view but then i did think he would boxers dont stand a chance against cage fighters in my view .As for PJ i was shocked yes Edgar is good but pj just never seemed to put on the pressure or throw leg kicks , im sure he will be back thoe..

Yeah as soon as it went to the ground, it was over.

Good of Toney to try his luck anyway and contribute to what was an enjoyable tournament to watch - first time I've watched a UFC event in ages.

Actually was an OK card. Virtually the matches except randy/tony going the distance.

Don't know what is up with BJ Penn, it really didn't look as though he wanted to be there. Randy match went pretty much as expected, one of the worse take down attempts by randy followed by couple of minutes of embarrasing g & p. Maynard is going to be difficult to stop though didn't look like he was going to finsh at any point. We now have maynard vs edgar II, with maynard already holding one win over the champ. Maia look good, his take downs were a lot better then have seen for a while. Davis vs Diaz was a slug feast for those of you like those types of matches.

Over all was never going to match up with 116 or 117 but an OK card. Now two so and so cards in 119 and 120 before the return of the big guy at 121.

The feeling reminded me of a school fight just before it started, lol, boxer Vs MMA indeed... Is Balrog off Street Fighter based on James Toney ? :)

Yeah, soon as it went to the floor it he was like a fish out of water :Fish:. To be honest, I'm supprised the UFC let him fight, if it was the other way round Couture would have had to earn his boxing licence, so, it sort of made the UFC look a bit unprofessional IMO.
