Hey, guys, do you have the experience of running your daily used apps off a USB drive?

Which is I am now trying to do. But I find that only portable apps can be run like that.

while some apps like MS office are not portably available. How can I do that?

The like of Microsoft Office its not designed to run from removable storage and as far as I can think wouldnt work easily.

The only way which would be a right pain in the backside would be to try and capture all the registry keys and system files put them onto the key and script install them on each mahine and then run the core application files from the key. This being a semi solution as your still running part of the app from the workstation not the usb drive. Other than that dont think its possible...

Im sure there is a portable version of openoffice. Im not sure what functionality is removed (but im guessing there must be something missing).

Might be worth a look.

edc.

Try openoffice portable.

Whats the benefit of spamming in forums? Or is it just to cause hassle and be a d...k splash?

It's for profit somewhere along the line.

He/she/computer program might plaster the same question all over the internet and then update their account with an advert in the signature.

They might post a follow-up with an advert to some software.

Its all advertising.

You will see some "I agree, blah blah.", "Some other inane comment." and then the fifth post will be:

"For best unlock solution you may go to xzyunlocksite."

Others pretend to be a list of good wholesale sites (watch, that word will attract a spambot to this thread LOL).
