hi everyone

do anyone know what is the going rate to fix and replace the glass touch screen on a 3gs wife has dropped hers , apple wants £140-£160, local console shop wants £60 any ideas cheers

If its in warranty take it to apple, otherwise take it elsewhere but make sure they use genuine apple parts.

I have been there, as mine has fallen butterside down.

the other option is to repair it yourself

i just changed one yesterday for my sister in law and i would say get a shop to do it. it didnt take long but the wee rubber seal around the edge is a pain and tryin to get that lookin back the way it was took ages. i didnt relise aswell the screen she got was only 9 quid off ebay but once everything was together the only bit not workin was the slide to unlock the phone. everthing else was ok like sliding the top off the screen for it to go off and the home button. turns out the screen was faulty but for 9 pound it was worth a try. did an aright job for my first time but wouldnt rush into another one unless i mastered the rubber seal lol

The warranty is 12 months, if anything else fails and they know it has a non genuine part they will not replace it.

I forked out the apple price to get mine done, due to the warranty still being current. I am glad I did as it stopped charging last week and has been sent for repair/replacemnt by O2.
