does anyone know if there are any non geostationary satellites

the reason i ask is whilst watching the persied meteor shower we saw a fast moving object very high up with no discernable flashing lights like a plane has, we took this to be the space station as we have seen this before but within 15 minutes we saw another with the same trajectory but the space station takes around 90 minutes to orbit the earth someone said it was a satellite whereas i said it cant be because stellites are geostaionary.
any ideas anyone

I saw the same thing and was wondering what it was. I only saw it once though, and assumed it was the space station.

I guess things like spy satellites wouldn't be geostationary.

Yeah, they are LEO (Low Earth Orbit) Satellites that orbit the earth. The International Space station is in LEO so it could have been that! its visable with the naked eye although you'd have to be in the right place at the right time! Maybe you were?

Correct! Spy Satellites would be LEO and lots of countries claim there Satellites dual use. I work in the satellite industry at component level but have seem a few up close! Remarkable sight :)
