Hi there, just wondering if anyone has come across this?, My friend called me today to have a look at his Technomate 5200 as it was behaving unusual. I should mention he has this rigged up to a 65cm dish and a standard usals motor.Whenever the box was switched off or rebooted, it would 'forget' where the satellites where and would lose its position by a long way. Have set the motor up again by usals and disecq 1.2 and everything works fine until the box is powered off or rebooted. Any one seen anything like this before ?? Is it worth changing the satellite cable from dish to reciever ??? any help appreciated.

its the motor m8

the motor also has to remember things, but, when the power to it is cut by the receiver being turned off, the motor forgets all of its settings. diseqc positions are stored within the motor, and usals co-ordinates are done by the motor knowing where it is compared to due south, and telling the receiver. killing the power makes it either forget all the stored diseqc positions, or not know where due south is from the position its in.

either of these informations being lost will result in the motor not telling the receiver the correct information, and looking like the receiver is playing up

Thanks for the info Digidude, appreciated. Is there anything I can do to resolve the problem. Using a metronic motor btw.

you could try resetting the motor and try another reciever to see if the problem persists but as digi says odds on its the motor so your mate will need a new motor. regards mdt
