SloooooooOOOOOooooowwwww :(

for some reason my net connection has slowed right down, slower than the old dial up slow, i use google maps every day for mapping out work runs, last night it took me nearly an hour to plot out 6 post codes waiting for the pages to load

its the same on both my laptop and my PC

ive restarted EVERYTHING

any ideas where to begin to find out whats causing this?

Unless your using a cough cough modem,i'd take it up with your isp,also see if neighbours or anyone you know in your area having the same probs....

my isp is sly, and for the last 2 days its been total shite, my phone is quicker on bog standard gprs coverage

12Kbps

and upload is 345Kbps

not bad for an 8M line

I'd take it up with sly m8 and see if u know a/one in your area with same prob....

have u tried clearing ur dns mate , disable then enable to see if any diff , also if using a router or switch taking them off just to see if make a diff

tho digi.. my pc althou shlow has been running ok

a 2 day old win7 laptop has gone from lightning fast to super slow..

i think there may be somthing flying about atm..

Suspect it's sly m8 as I have yet to find a decent service from them. Customer service from them is sh*te as well so don't expect to get much positive help.

Have you checked the line? There might be an automated line test you can do.

phoned sly, they said theres no isseus with it, but theyll take a look, the next morening, everythings normal again

Probably a stuck bras profile, when they ran the diagnostic test it would have bumped it back into place....

BRAS Profile - A predetermined throughput rate linked to (and lower than) the sync rate. Or more correctly, the ATM shaping rate.

Sounds like their usual cover up response but at least you got them to do something about it for you.
