Yep some fooker ran right into the back of my van.
Not too much damage a bent door and a caved in bumper but my kneck and shoulder are giving me a bit of pain and discomfort, also got a fooker of a headache. Is this whiplash? and does it get worse?

Yeah it sounds like it mate. Minimum whiplash claim is about 1,500, go with his insurance and claim personal injury too. Tell them you will accept 2,000 for a quick settlement, they wont even argue mate.

Could be whiplash and unless u get it checked out you wont know what underlying damage may be there...go get it checked out because it can get worse.

happend to me 2 years ago went to casualty was told mild whiplash phoned insurance company of person who ran into me £1000 offered no questions asked eventually bumnped it up to £1300 so wasnt to bad also as i had a 307 at the time and due to their insurance taking ages to fix my car i had 2 weeks in a honda ctx then 4 weeks in a golf gt! so get up to hospital if you think you have whiplash

Dude take the easy money, no point going for more as it causes more problems. They will fight stuff like that, just take the 2k and run.

worst thing you can do if you want to carry on driving, constantly looking over you shoulder & making that neck worse. it will drag out & you wont be able to drive that shiney brand new motor, your insurance company will supply (through a company they will claim a referral fee from)
if you genuinely have whiplash there will be no problem. you have a claim & should (depending on the severity) should get £1500 - £2500. ignore 1st couple of offers & should realistically get about £2000.
if you are unsure how to go about it, send me a pm, my brother is a claims advisor & will put you in touch with a solicitor.
as for the premiums going up because of claims, the insurance companies are the first to jump on the bandwagon & will contact about 2 - 3 solicitors to contact you, so they can claim the referral fee.

Based on two different cases (once my sister, the other one my mrs) over the last decade.

First it definitely sounds like whiplash, if you are feeling it straight away then sorry but that is not good news. Make sure you get it treated, that will probably mean physio. Its no friggin joke and my mrs is still feeling the effect a decade later.

I would expect a 2 grand (plus expenses) or so payout in the next 2 to 3 years.

They will drag it out at long as possible, the case has to go to court within 3 years if you want a judge to appoint damages. The offers will be crap until then. Expect them to stall for every correspondence, they have something like 90 days to reply to each letter. Expect them to send you several of 'their' doctors (you can claim the expenses for this). Expect to go to several doctors appointed by your insurance as well, your local GP won't do. Their main aim seems to be to wait it out and make it as inconvenient to you as possible until you get pissed off and just accept the crap offer.

Sorry for the doom and gloom just disillusioned from personal experience.

the main thing is your ok apart from the whiplash , from personal experience same happened to me and peeps are right usually 1500, if gone to hospitl thats taken into consideration also physio .
