what utter crap :)

Virgin have sold their tv channels to sky, i.e. virgin 1, living etc.

Virgin still 50% own the UKTV / Dave etc that they own with BBC.

Virgins core business is their fibre network. Why would they sell the TV distribution or Broadband businesses?

well only costing 18 pounds now wen we go with virgin sky can kiss my ass

fukin sky, dont talk to me about these coonts this month

i have full pack, HD and ESPN, should be about £60 a month. im one of these idiots who dont look at bank statements, but saturday tried to get money out of cashpoint, and it laughed at me. i generally know to within ~ £50 how much money 'should' be in an account, so saturday, used another card instead and got pi$$ed up. monday, checked online, and sees they took out £125

fookin TWICE!!!!!!

phoned them up, got blagged with 'well phone you back' and heard nothing

phoned them today, and went straight in for the kill, the first bird who answered the phone probably went home and hung herself lol. in the last 3 months, they have overcharged me nearly £300!!!!! and now they say they can only give the money back as a credit on my account due to the amount of time between them taking it and me asking for it back

ive worked with sky since they only had 16 analogue channels, and MTV used to change to german porn at 11PM, dont try that with me biatch

apparently im going to be rung by a third tier manager tomorrow, theres probably more chance of me ringing my own neck with my c0ck that that happening though

ill be onto the bank for unauthorised withdrawls if i get nowhere, ive already cancelled the DD, as im over £200 in credit, what do they need my bank details for a withdrawl for??

back on topic m8, is it a direct debit? quote the direct debit indemnity scheme and call your bank. they will refund it. sky is aware of the mistake, your in the driving seat m8. used to work for the bank and the dd indemnity scheme is there from the banks to protect you from this. let them get it back, it will be there in a day or two.

they mucked our a/c the first three months with them.
Not only that i spent a fortune on hold because the 0845 number isnt free with cable phone.

Doesnt anyone check there actual Sky Bill for the amount instead of checking their bank statement, check the bill then you have time to cancel the direct debit then tell em were to stick it

we had sky for about 10 years going back around 7 years back, anyways with us we had upgraded to multiroom and sky + with all the movies and sport packages, then out of the blue they rang us with an offer to insure our boxes for another year, fooking £90 - our last anologue and digi boxes had lasted for years without any problems.
i told them to go forth, they then explained to me that if the boxes failed they would incur a charge, i then stated if the boxes failed they WOULDNT incur a charge as i would just disconnect.
Within 2 hrs of the call, BOTH boxes dead some error code - ring this number etc.
so i rang them and low and behold both our boxes are fooked.... hmmmm, call out charge of £70.....hmmmmm
NA disconnect please, they bent over backwards to keep us as customers, but they had disolved any trust i had in them, we went to virgin and not looked back.
the funny part about this was i mentioned it to one of my friends ats work and they done excatly the same thing to him, about an hour or so later his boxes were fooked, this is a deliberate ploy from sky to get more money out of you for thier inferiour boxes, but in my case it backfired.
i personally would never let sky in my house again,
when their salesmen knock i tell them why i wont have them - a couple of times they said they have heard this from other previous customers....
i dont think companies like this ever learn though, especially now with the internet, if they play dirty tricks like this people wont ever return to them no matter how cheap they are.
since we have been with virgin we have had 3 tv boxes fail on us, total cost zero, infact each time we lost pictures they gave us £10 credit - thus keeping us as happy customers that will stay with them.

the companies that phone you to insure your boxes ARE NOT sky

sky dont do insurance, they dont want the hassel of out of warranty equipment. they only have one 'approved' insurer, and thats domestic and general.

all these 'little' companies are somehow buying your details from sky, and all lying through their teeth to get your money. they deffo have people working within sky though

theyre the biggest rip offs going, if your equipment does fail, youll only get a repaired receiver off them

with virgin, you never actually own the equipment, you hire it, this is why they replace the box for free, with sky, the second your card is activated, you become the owner of the receiver, and liable for any problems with it after the guarantee expires

surely if the box fails ( breaks down ) you can cancel the subscription and cancel the standing order at your bank ?

Then can tell them to come and collect their box as its on your property or you will give it to the first Sky engineer you see in the street.

When you get sky the box is accully yours. You dont need to return it opon canncelling after your contract is finshed.

Thats just it though its not "their" box its yours, when you sign up for the contract you agree to this as Digi says, also if you fall behind in your payments and your subscription is cancelled they add the cost to buy the box as it is only free if you complete a full contract and sell the debt on to a debt collection agency.

I used to work for a DCA who collected for sky and people who only had a couple of months left on their sky contact but stopped paying it for whatever reason would be chased for a couple of hundred quid.

well i got a 12 month contract for £25 a month i get free HD box, free installation and every channel ( movies, sports, music the lot ) except ESPN, i even get all the HD channels, so i am in no rush to cancel it.

but as soon as the 12 month is up, i deffo will cancel the whole lot and see if Virgin can better their deal at the time.

my above post was more of a suggestion, than actually doing it.

I got an email yesterday telling me my subscription is going up £2.50 per month. Not alot considering I'm paying £25 for twelve months for all chans at the moment but what exactly is this extra for??? They even mentioned the VAT increase in January is going to affect my bill too. And today, an email from BT telling me line rental up 50p per month too. Dirty fuqers are all are it, don't even know if this shite is allowed when you've signed up for a 12 month contract......

After a few months of chasing my £50 M&S vouchers, i fianally had a call from someone at sky. Apparently my friends and family half price deal doesnt entitle me to these vouchers even though they had said via email that they were on their way. Anyway, the lady who called said that she would send them and cos of the complications she would credit my account by a month - result :)
