Are these 16Gb USB any good ?

What do you honestly think?

I wouldn't touch them, you will probably end up with some thing that is seen as a 2gig just like the sd cards.

fat32 is the only format available for pen drives

Who told you that?
you can format a usb stick in ntfs if you want to

stear clear mate, i got one a while back and it was actually just a 1gb with hacked fw.

Ermm no :)

Check this out about the seller.

I ALWAYS check the seller in Google before I buy things like this.

In the end, I went out and bought a legit 16gb from PC world.
It cost about £30, but at least I have the peace of mind that I can take it back if it was knackered.

Cheap electronics & PC stuff from Asia is always a gamble m8.

THIS is the one I went for, my car stereo has a USB lead which hangs out the back of it,
I've led it through the loom and fed it through the ashtray so that the USB is hidden.
It's the same size size as a pico drive, and holds a shedload of music.

Finest Shanzhai tat from Shenzheng.

Your 100% Satisfaction is what we are pursuit.

tbh, most of these devices, whoever brands them, are actually made in China or Korea anyway so as long as your actually getting a real device then there's no reason it wont perform in the same way as most other 16Gig devices.

In terms of the actual flash chips inside the devices, there's actually very few manufacturers so most devices will use one of the exact same set of half a dozen or so chips.

Build quality may be an issue but China/Korea tend to be reasonably ok in pcb manufacturing in most cases. You may find the casing is very inferior quality but thats about all.
