Amiga Demos

Anyone remember the Red Sector Demo Creator?

I thought I was 1337 using that. :)

I miss those days - when someone threw on Jesus on E's, 9 Fingers or Big time Sensuality for the first time - or the Budbrain MEgademo (eh Purity) - everyone stopped and through "**** me this is amazing!". Now there seems to be very little that makes me feel this way. In recent times only the Poseidon part of GoW 3 gave me that feeling...

Oh and Red Sector was "the Shit!" ;) Made some wicked awesome vector demos on that lol

These days the only thing that gets a reaction out of me are those amazing 1k demos that some groups do, absolutely flabberghasting (is that a real word?)

Back in the 8bit and 16bit days the hardware was extremely limited and everyone was on a level playing field, these days the demo groups are spoild.

IMO although they are nice to look at, modern PC demos don't muster the same respect that the old home computers used to.

That's why the PC 1k scene is much more interesting, everyone is limited to a maximum 1024Kbyte - now that's more like it :)

I downloaded about 30Gb of amiga stuff with emulators and all workbench's. Some of the demo's and magazine disks are quite good. Considering how old they are.

There are some awesome PC demos out there.[/url]

There certainly are but I don't get the same feeling I used to with Amiga stuff. Back then it was brand new stuff and mind blowing in a way that it's not today. A lot of the PC demo's do impress with what they achieve through small size and incredible processing power but it doesn't beat the feeling back in the day.
Maybe it's because I'm getting older :)

Nice one, thanks..always amazed me how good they sounded with only 4 channel poly.
