I would really love to be able to run homebrew on my xbox 360 but the kernel is too new to jtag it. I've looked all over the net for any news on possible exploits for later kernel versions and have found nothing, not even any projects for looking out for exploits! i was wondering if anyone knew of anyone is working on finding any exploits for later (8995+) kernels? or even perhaps a way to downgrade to a lower kernel?

what i really want is a media player i don't have to have my freakin pc on to use, and .mkv support!

Cheers :)

no no no

and there isnt a media player for xbox 360 anyway really, money is better spent on a WDTV live and installing a custom firmware.

wow i never knew they did custom firmware for that sort of thing! Is it on certain models or all models?

well you could start here

WDTV FORUMS

or jump straight to

B-RAD » WDLXTV-Live – The extreme upgrade

You don't really need custom firmware to just play .mkv's. Make sure its a WDTV Live and not the older one as the older ones have sound issues with some files unless you use a decoder/amp (read the WDTV forums) you still may have sound problems down an HDMI connection from what i've been reading and there doesn't appear to be support for DVD chapters (there is on the WDTV Live plus but that's only just come out in the states) although more expensive popcorn hour C200 is still the daddy
