Would this work on a Imate 9502 Ultimate? and is the install process still the same?

Ok - I give uup lol

The answer does not appear to be here so it must be so simple no else was slow enough to need to ask but

I havce ponly gotten cab files from the cd I have TomTom NA v665.1293

So no META or DCT etc I have looked in the cab files with zipgenius and do not see those file types either

Where do they come from heh?? What do I do next ?

DOH!!!

Well then I will deal with first things first then -

It turns out that the cab files fails to install so i need to address that issue then I will have the files I need to fix - I was hoping i could fix the files elsewhere then they would make the install work better - dreams are wonderful things to have - am using TomTom NA v665.1293 CD

the cab file is the installation mate, you need to run that on the PDA. The meta and dct are in the map folder.

Thanks Devil -

Tried to install the Cabs after transfering them to the phone - 2 different map sets and they both failed - and as is normal for WM no useful error information.

Does any one happen to know whether a cab install will simply fail as unsuccessful if there is not enough room on the SD Card to "install"/ex=and the maps in the SD card or is there a proper "not enough space" type message?

I may need to go find a way to figureou tif the map files are the problem.

They are the V set I referenced above -

Thanks for settingme on the right path -

Even tho you select SD card as install location, it will try to install system files in the actual device so you will need at least 10mb for tt7.

Mega mega thanks to you all.

I used to run TT nav 6 on my old phone so I had Tomtom home installed on my pc. I installed TTN7.450.9028_repack.cab on my touch HD (needless to say: my new phone) and started it. It asked to install a city map, which I confirmed. Then I took my old Wester Europe map version 675 and added that map via Tomtom Home on my new phone. I added a voice via Tomtom Home and... It works! I did nothing with device ID's and stuff, it was just a chaotic pick in the dark. So if you happen to have an old version of tomtom running in TT Home, first try that in combination with TT nav 7.4

Thank you all very much from the heart!

OK guys I dont see this anywhere in the forums so decided to write one up. I've finally managed to install tomtom 7 on my pda (mda compact3).
So here goes:

1) Find the device ID of your PDA.
To do this you will need tomtom home from HERE

Install then connect your pda usig active sync.
It will recognise your device and after strting up, see the pictures below where you have to click.

2) Download TTN7.450.9028_repack.cab from somewhere (usual places, just search in google and you will find)

3) Download MAP. I got this one United_Kingdom_and_Republic_of_Ireland_v720.1802.

4) In the map folder you will find loads of files, we want the 3 files that end with META, PNA and DCT. Copy them to a another folder called "insert_meta_from_Map_here". <--- yes thats the name of the folder.

5) Go one step up from the folder you should have 4 files and one folder. the 4 files ar called:

DeviceID.txt
RunMeforDCT.bat
tt7_keygen.exe
meta.txt

and the folder is called:

insert_meta_from_Map_here

In the DeviceID.txt just copy and paste your device ID.
double click on RunmeForDCT.bat > select Option 1 > Follow instructions.
Once it has completed, go into the "insert_meta_from_Map_here" folder and copy the new META, PNA and DCT files into your map folder and replace them. > Your map is now ready.

Put the TTN7.450.9028_repack.cab into the storage card of your PDA and run it. it will install tomtom on your PDA. > copy map onto the storage card.
Run tomtom and off you go!

Any problems let me know guys hope this helps and hope i been clear.

Hi I too am new to this, have downloaded the details as above, but i am unable to find the .dct file in the map folder, i also am unable to run/open the .bat file inorder to put my device ID in enabling the maps on my ipaq5400 can anyone help, as when i run TomTom7 it says "activation failed" "sorry this is not the correct activation code for the product United_Kingdon_and_Republic_of_Ireland.

Thanks for the notes devil666.
Does this apply to all versions of TT and WM6.1?

Thanks

Thanks heaps going to give it a go.

Just checking you need easyusetools to generate the dct?

The repack map I dld did not not have dct

hi all,
got the HTC blackstone, got TOMTOM7 on and working fine, even got the map pack noticed due to this guide....

BUT!!!
when entering the activation key for the maps i hit a problem.

there is not enough space in the key field to enter in all of the activation key.
i think there were 9 digits left over.

I'm not sure I got the correct device ID, is this correct?
DeviceUniqueID=XXXXXXXXXX

I got this from the ttnavigator.bif that's installed in the Program Files\Navigator\* directory.
