hi, i have the ipac2490 i have all the files i need to install tt7 but i am having trouble finding my device id, can you please help as i am tearing my hair out, also i do not have any version of tt software installed, and i went on the tt website and got lost aahhh help me please thanks

First you need the App /tomtom 7910.9185 example/ than maps and a tool to generate map_name.dtc file with your device ID, File with extension .BIF in the memory card. sorry that is in brief. There is a lot of tutorials around and tools /Advanced_Easyusetools/

Really useful post and it's worked all the way upto the phone still not recognizing the map.I'm sure I'm doing something stupid so any help would be really appreciated.

Details:

Xperia X1
TomTom.Navigator.v7.450.9028.Multilanguage.PPC.WM5.WM6-GiZPDA - Works well
Loaded onto card
TomTom Map United Kingdom and Republic of Ireland 810.1870 - Meta FIle is recognized(after I changed the map meta data)
Got the device ID from TTNavigator.BIF
Ran the RunMeforDCT.bat
All patched fine
Copied back the 3 files
Loaded maps to route directory of card (both with and without the version number).

AND TT7 WON'T FIND THE MAPS AAAAAAGGHHHHH

Anyone spot the problem?

OK, feel better now!

Wrong Map version mate. You want version 7 maps.
Unless you put tomtom v7.9 and do a bit of tweaking for the latest 8.15 maps.

Tried 7.910.9185 VGA Black & 8.10.1870 Maps- Couldn't get it to work

All have been loaded onto the Storage Card
Maps loaded in the Navigator Dir & Storage Card Root Dir

Tried Soft resets

STIL CANT SEE THE MAP!

Struggling now to find clean maps and activation Batch Files to check it's not that.

Does anyone know where I can get Files that they know work together?

Any help would be really appreciated.

Maps should g in the root of the storage card. dont change the format of the folder. is it possible you got upload a print screen of your storage card root directory?

Did it come with wm6.1 mate? or did you install it on top? if it came with mobile 6.1, i would put tomtom 7.9 on there you would love it.

if it came originally with 6 or 5, then put tomtom 7

OP sorry, the medion md 96700 have windows mobile 5.0 and is a normal navigation no phone.

Its very quick.
