Hey guys,

Been out of the scene for a while, mainly due to no games coming out that I want to play, but also down to laziness on my part.

I've got a friend with a first generation DMS Wii thinking of having it chipped at last so I was wondering what is currently the best/easiest, dare I say cheapest chip to use?

I'm running an NTSC D2B with a YAOSM external install, all very nicely to done by Wiiman and was wondering if that is still the way to go. Is YAOSM still updated?

I would personally still recommend yaosm as it has been kept upto date, and works just fine with any game so far, and it's cheap.

YAOSM for me too, does the job well.

i was going to go for a wiikey as mines one of the first batch of wiis

whats the pro's and cons of this chip and whats differences between YAOSM and Wiikey

The main advantage between the two is the cost yaosm is very cheap as its open source, if you want a yaosm kit i can provide one.

The other advantage is there is one less point to solder than a wiikey.

doesnt the wiikey allow DVD updates and doesnt require a serial port on the side for updating?

yoasm cant find any of those modchips about they hard to come by?

i prefer wiikey, but that's me, others have their own preference.

yes, wiikey is easily updated via DVD, and the console never needs to be taken apart again.

no wires sticking out, no external device needed.
