Right our bathroom sink keeps getting blocked on a very regular basis, I am talking about every 2-3 days. I used to just push something down thin like a long bendy rod to dislodge the grime, but now that no longer works. I have over the last few weeks bought about 5 different drain unblocker fluid which works for about 1 day, then after that the sink seems to eventually fill up with water within the next day or so. It does not seem to drain very fast at all, maybe a full sink will drain if we leavie it for half a day or so.

Now getting pissed off.

Any ideas or is it a plumber job?

Call me thick, but is this easy and do they seal themselves afterwards?

I am useless at DIY!!!

Hehe. It's always a big.....:NoNo: for me.

Forgot to say, the U bend is not concealed, it is in full view as it is an open style pedestal. So hopefully that will be easier.

try using caustic soda m8, should work a treat. just dissolves all the shite. dont think me spellings right. lol.

The absolute best stuff to use is called Shift It. Its a high concentration of sulphuric acid. It will clean those pipes for life plus stink out your house and make it smell like a stink bomb went off. When I used to work in my old mans DIY store we sold these by the dozen and never had an unhappy customer.

Lol, that might do the trick as our lass says my shite stinks the whole house anyhow, so the smell would not be a problem.

hi matey, have a look at the connections - if there sort of ribbed they are compression fit (as opposed to chemically wellded) which means you can undo them by hand and replace them the same way. personally i would never recommend a chemical unblock - there next to useless

like someone said before, take the waste off the sink its easy just be careful putting it back on, so not to split the rubber washers. Give it a good clean out. Also just make sure there is a slight downword slope to the 1" half pipe. But you should know if the blockage is in the pipe cos it will be full of water aswell after you take the waste off.

but my guess is the waste will be full of gunk and hair so just be that needs a good clean out

and its dead easy todo good luck
