is there anything i should no first before i attempt to open/fix the console. i have the artic 5 paste and the removal liquid to get rid off the old paste.

some times and only sometimes the 3 towel trick works some say it is only a temp fix but i have a 3rrod that works fine 6 weeks later
only other advise is take your time and clean the old paste off really well so it shines
regards

My original V1 360 failed few weeks ago, done the x-clamp fix but to no avail, am quite sure it was the southbridge chip that went goosed on mine.

Ended up buyin an new motherboard with a benQ on ebay for 100euro, Falcon MB with HDMI:)

How did you get around sticking the hdmi falcon mobo in the v1 case? did you chop the case or buy a replacement case with hdmi port hole from fleeBay? Just interested in which way you chose to go mate.

LOL... I have a falcon chipset mobo with hdmi and cant decide which to do. I'll probably end up just leaving it in the cupboard until its needed and I'm forced to make a decision lol

just need to flash now :FLASHER: always wanted to do that but had no reason too lol. i have a program but am a little lost on it

Read over Textbooks firmware tutorial a few times and it will be a breeze.

What size bit do I need to remove the heatsink screws??

Thanks

torx 10 for the case screws. torx 8 for the black heat sink screws
