Bad ebay listing

Someone should report him to ebay for breach of license - its illegal to sell this I think.

his made loads of money this month over 400 pounds, fair play to him

yea there seems to be a lot of dumb nuts out there....i think i have to give credit to the seller cause all these people that are buying just needed a quick google search..

and is it illegal as the software freeware anyway..and his sharing it by puttin it on cd which i suppose what the charge is for...

He will say the cost is for the cd and his time putting the software on said cd rather than the software itself. very cheeky but i think it's legal-ish

Says this on the end of the listing..

"Note to eBay Staff: We are authorized to distribute this software under GNU General Public License (GPL)"

I'd guess that VLC states it's ok distibute freely, (not bothered to check) so I guess that's his get out clause..

You can distribute freely but not sell for money - it is def illegal what a cnut

im selling a link to an incredible auction site save ££££s- all sorts of items from all over the world - just £4.99 with £2.50 email delivery

Do you offer a discount on bulk purchases? ;)

Ask the seller for the source code, under the GNU GPL it should be made available with the binary.

Lots of interesting stuff here but the part about the source is at the bottom.

I suppose they may argue that the source was not changed, but they might have to provide the corresponding source files to remain within the terms and conditions, I don't know the details.

I sent him a email telling him hes a greedy money grabbing tossa some people have no shame.

I wonder what the lads think that actually made VLC all them hours of work for some prick to sell there graft for £4.99 when they were nice enough to give it for free.

I am not sure it would avtually cost him so much money to put this installer on a cd and post it. In fact, I would say that the jiffy bag he will put the cd in will be the most expensive bit of the whole affair...

If he even does that and doesnt just email the link out...

I would say the most expensive thing/s would be his fuel to the Post Office, and his eBay/PayPal charges... Either way, and like it or not, it all has to be taken into account...

If people are that thic then they get what they deserve. Thick as pig shit to be honest.

Hey, take it easy, I don't agree with his listing, I'm just saying there's more to being a seller than the cost of a Jiffy bag...

(Yes, I add a quid to my listings...!) ;)

it does say its open source in the discription so mabe people were happy to pay for it .madness i know ,but it happens.

surely people who are buying the stuff are partly responsible. Before getting any software you can google it and find out about it, especially if your paying for it.

now people buying the stuff are just feeding his habits right... most people on here are smart enough not to fall for stuff like this..but internet a wide world and if people are dumb and lazy enough for buying this then more fool em!
