Similar to me but im waiting for the HD PVR rather like the DM 8000.

I have been told release date is 8th July for the PVR....supplied without hard-drive
Still waiting to find out which Hard-drives are compatable and upto what size?

It Takes a IDE Laptop Hard Drive between 80gb/120gb giving you 40/60 hours worth of recording
I've heard there going to be the price of the current boxes, but obviously without the hard drive (but they still work without them as a DVB) So your looking at £130ish including the hard drive, which is a 2.5" sata up to 120gb i think. The cheapest hard drive i found is this one here at £34.59 inc vat and delivery.
my eurovox max v 2008 was £100 delivered brand new from a reputeable seller on ebay fcuk £130 ave got a spare comp here stick a couple of cards in and i've got an HD pvr

Sell yours for £100 if it aint too old, which it isn't going to be. Buy the box using that money then all you need is £35 for that hdd lol. Like i said earlier in this post im still waiting on the HD PVR if Eurovox ever do one

will the software be the same in it or does it need new to be written for it.might be a good upgrade for the relatives dreaded replay .
Was thinking of upgrading from the old Dbox to this one, but dont know anything about them, are they easy to fix and upgrade like the dbox?

The eurovoxes are probably the easiest and simplest boxes to flash and use m8 and probably the most reliable of all the 3rd party boxes out there.
Obviously the new max pvr is an unknown quantity yet as its only just being released but going off my experience of previous eurovoxes i'd definetley recommend one over the dated Dbox
Has it's own software not used on any other boxes
I've been playing with different combo's for the last couple of days since i got some in and have come up with the following:
Some Hitachi & Fujitsu drives don't physically fit, so avoid them. No drive over 120Gig seems to work, so avoid them. I have successfully got a Seagate & WD 120Gig and old Hitachi 60Gig to work fine.
The new (v1.1) firmware does re-map the timeshift to the pause button, but there is an occasional slight Lip-Sync problem on some channels.
Big Problem - there is no language button on the remote, so there is no easy way to remove the audio description. You can upload the channel list to the PC and edit (delete) the main audio channel (PID) from the affected channels. This should work on all Eurovoxes, I have attached a tutorial - just remember to keep a backup of everything in case you screw up.
Feel free to suggest updates/corrections and remember I'm not a teacher or tutorial writer
