Ive noticed alot of ppl seem to use a bit of silicone adhesive to hold the wires down on a modchip. Do i have to use a glue gun or can i buy the stuff in a squeezable tube?

Where can i buy it from?

cheers

i use a few dabs of loctite superglue on top of the drive chips just to secure the wires.

i use a bit of insulation tape...the wires shouldnt really move once soldered.....

if they move or come loose...then they havent been soldered very good.....

Its not about the wires coming loose its about the nice neat finish and the extra security when posting a wii. Covering everything in insulation tape can cause overheating, make sure you never cover the breather hole over thats next to the pcb, i only ever cover the modchip in insulation tape both sides.

never looked at the post that way wiiman...you have some good points.....i only use a bit of tape on the mod chip itself and only a small bit on the d2c ic.....i dont post installs so again i suppose your right again for extra security....

I use clear double sided tape for wire runs and Hot glue gun,(flaten with a wet finger tip) to secure wires that I want holding down secure, have done from psx days
