Hi all.
Can any one tell me a easy way of dual booting a laptop with preinstalled Vista on, HDD is partitioned into 2 80gb drives c & d.
I tried before but every time i put XP on drive d and used Vistaboot pro on boot up it wouldn't recognise xp and would only boot into Vista even though the choice of OS was there.
Plus what is best version of xp at mo lappy is core2duo 2gb ram 32bit.
thanks for any help.

hi m8, i have done this a few times with a few hick ups but always got it to work ok, u will need this little prog called easybcd which you can get from here

http://neosmart.net/dl.php?id=1

just install xp as normal like you said it wont recognise it, install the easybcd on vista when it reboots from putting on xp, start up easybcd got to add and remove entries, i would think you can work out what you need to do there, windows xp and drive d, save and exit ,ok now i have attached 2 files in a rar you need to put these in you d: drive or which ever drive you put xp on,
ok reboot with a bit of luck you should see a dual boot menu with xp and vista.

i think that should do it

You can also use GRUB, you'll find better support for GRUB aswell.
