you still have a warranty from ms as long as the console has not been banned from live. i have sent a few back that have been flashed and had no problems but as for having a receipt your right, what's the point? i would not fancy trying to take a console that had been flashed back to my local game store, only to be told to get lost its been tampered with and you have invalidated the warranty, simply no need if something goes wrong and as long as its not been banned from live then just send it back to ms for it to be repaired for free they even pay for the courier to pick it up from you.

You can take the warranty sticker off without damaging it.
