Has anyone had a corrupted filesystem error message after a firmware update?

I seem to get it everytime I do an update now. The error allows me to restore the filesystem, but im wondering if my drive is on the way out?

get in contact with sony. no idea what causes this, but i have heard of a few people having the same problem. the solution every time seems to be that sony will replace the ps3 with a new one. so you should contact them asap

I've just emailed them. I'll see what they come back with

you should just phone them. they will replace it within a few days. sony customer services are excellent

tbh i thought they were rubbish. they said that it's still working so they weren't willing to do anything and told me about buying extra warranty from a third party!

in the end i decided to format and restore the drive which took about 3 hours and re-download everything.

i'll see if the problem occurs on the next firmware update.

Deedie posted a link for an extended warranty direct from Sony. Its very cheap and looks to be a very good deal

The format did the trick. No error message after installing Firmware 2.40

so my advice worked then LOL

about time i returned a favour to you LOL

ouch!!!

have you contacted Sony about this?

i'll see what i can sort for you! nudge nudge

Why would you want extended warrenty on top of home insurance, Im guessing you have home insurance with cover for your media equipment, so much easier and cheaper :p

I've just tried installing the new firmware from a USB drive and it works fine, with no error message! Very strange!
