which drive

ive just got a 360 which has a clear case fitted which has 3rrod.
now fixed
i now want to have a go at flashing the dvd drive.
prob is that the sticker on the drive is all ripped up as the guy who had it previous put a clear top on it so you can see the disk spinning.
all i can see is ts-h943 and i think its a samsung drive.
it also says toshiba samsung storage technology.
is this an easy drive to start with?
can anyone shed some light on this for me?

scrap the above questions lol i now know its a sammy drive and have ixtreme off xbins for that drive.
i may need some advice on which way to go about creating the modded firmware from my original dump when i get to that stage though.

Use iprep mate

You will need a VIA sata chipset tho.

yeah i bought a sata card with the correct chipset a while ago.
just plucking the courage up lol

go for it mate it is so easy just make sure if like my via card it has 3 sata ports on it you plug the drive into number 1 or you will spend all night trying to find it

i am following the above tut using iprep.
i have created the usb boot drive.
it boots fine
i connect sata lead
agree to terms and hit enter
but when i enter dsam 301**** 55** then hit enter
all i get is no drive detected??
any ideas

are you using the sata port nearest the front of the tower?

is it the sammy 25 or 28 version mate ?

if its the 28 version remember the 10 second switch on off
