hi i just bought a ps3 for my son and was wondering can u store games on the hard drive and if so how do u do it,since im new to p s3,s i dont know alot about them other than its an expensive "game" so looking at how to get games on hdd so i dont need to buy them all the time and if any 1 kows any usefull information worth knowing id appreciate there input ,i dont think it can
be chipped yet can it ???

No it cannot be chipped and you cannot install games on the harddrive.

The only games you can download on the harddrive are demos and games bought from the ps shop

As Purity has already said but it is actually worthwhile visiting the playstation network store as there is a great selection of demo's to download.

There are also some very good deals on some games.

I've started to check the store for demo's before buying games

Get a xbox, lol PS3 rulzs man. That would be like backing hd instead of blu ray, pmsl.

you can also use your hardrive to store music , photo's and other media . unfortunately it cant store avi video's yet, but it does other formats mp4 being the most popular.
avi divx , playing capabilities is coming though, which will be a great plus point for the system

it is also easy to change your hardrive for a bigger one.
its turning into a great multimedia system and the future looks bright for ps3 owners

you can store avi's on the hardrive. but since i have read your other post regarding divx, i understand why you didnt realise this

I recking the 360 controller is great, it's a major improvement over the original colossal Xbox controller.
