Britain’s first road pricing scheme outside of London will be announced for Manchester on Monday, The Daily Telegraph can disclose.

In a move expected to pave the way for a series of road charging schemes across Britain, the Government will announce the introduction of a system which could see motorists paying up about £5 a day to commute in and out of the city.

Yet ANOTHER TAX for us to deal with, this dont affect me directly but I do go there sometimes... and do live in london so get shafted already !

How can they do this?? we voted against it.. they asked us if we where in favour and we said no.. 3-4 councils have also rejected it which means it cant go ahead.. so how can they bring this in through the back door..

It pisses me off..

atm 1.20p ltr.. £145 road tax.and set to rise. and now theyre asking us to pay £5 a day to use the roads we already pay for??

Ok fine charge us but abolish road tax :mad:
