Ok before i start im a bit thick when it comes to phones lol.
But what i want to do is set up my n95 8 gig to send photos by email.
Ive tried setting this up but failed
I have a gmail account a hotmail account and a blueyonder account for email.
Can any one give me a step by step guide on how to set up any one of these. Not fussed what mail server i use. Thanks in advance

well, you can also send an MMS to an email address as well. But if you prefer to send it as a pure email.

There is an option in the menu, it changes location depending what network you are on, that will set up your email account for you. You wont be able to do this via gmail or hotmail I dont think, only your BlueYonder account.

If you dont have the wizard on your phone, you can get it from here: http://europe.nokia.com/A4164022?ur...s/files/software/Nokia_N95_SettingWizard2.sis (its for the N95, but will work fine on your phone) this will need to be installed on your phone etc to work. If you have it, there is an option to download and install this on the phone itself, I think it is under the catalogue menu? There is also a settings guide here: http://nds1.nokia.com/phones/files/guides/Nokia_N95-2_8GB_Settings_Wizard_AAL_en.pdf which may help you.

I have the wizards and have tried setting them up as per gmail instructions but it still wont work. Im doing or missing something daft thats why i want someone who has done it to give me a walk through. Thanks for the input karmy but im afraid its more tan that i need m8.
Ps when i try to send as a multimedia message to an email add it will only let me input a number not a web addy?

you should be able to pick the email address for your contact instead of a number.

TBH, I wouldnt use gmail for it, I would use either your Blueyonder account or the one that came with your contract.

You are going to need you incoming/outgoing server addresses
Your username and login
any special ports you use (if memory serves, gmail uses different port numbers and security, SSL I think)

If you have settings in, what error do you get?

I don't have a N95 but a 6800.
I set mine up a while ago, but I remember haveing to take photo's at a lower resolution as it wouldn't send large image files.
Re-sizing the image on the phone was no use either.
Perhaps worth a try m8?

No error in gmail it just says connecting to gmail and doesnt do anything.
I will try and find my blueyonder settings and try that.

I can get gmail to work from the apps menu but it will not allow attatchmets just text email and retreval

I think it is possible you dont have the security set up and/or the ports set up for gmail correctly on the native email client.

If you take a quick look at the guides from gmail, there is a generic one there that tells you what security and ports you need. The last time I tried it on a Nokia I was unable to get it to work (an N91), so you should have better luck with your BlueYonder account.

Got it going using o2 mail account after a bit of pissin about.
Thanks for the input guys

on the download icon you can get windows live which will set up all your email stuff on your phone. with that your able to send emails via a hotmaill email account
